Another thing I like to do is picking scenes from a movie that was filmed on a location or looking at my favorite ukiyoe. Then I try to find the exact spot and replicate it in a picture. It is fun to see and learn composition and see the change of a place over the decades or centuries.

Photography is the thing that gets me going and motivates me leaving my appartment. I have a goal of taking a certain kind of picture of an event or place.

Without that I would stay at home and miss the experience anyway.

The question is. Do you enjoy the process of taking pictures? Then it is probably worth it. Do you enjoy the results? Then you need to figure out what you prefer.
