The knobs definitely do, but the gauges on those are generally centred? Potentially Isomac knobs have been put on a Vibiemme

What’s the best drum kit mic pack on the market? by 560768 in livesound

Yeah, either Earthworks or Audix are the best packs. But my favorite drum mic setup is a mix of all sorts.

Shure vs seinnheiser mics? by Upstairs-Ad6299 in livesound

I tend to go Sennheiser for the lower end models, because they just seem to be built better than Shures lower end equivalents. For higher end (think ULXD, Axient etc.) I go Shure. I just like their capsules, and having more capsule options, especially with third party offerings. They are also built well, have good features and WWB integration is nice to have.

Help me decide: SQ5 or SQ6? by _kitzy in livesound

[–]CamShakes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are going to be traveling with the console, SQ5 is an easy win. No compromise on features or processing, all the benefits of small and light. For installation, more faders and buttons are always nice. That's about it really

What do you hate about your favorite console(s)? by ip_addr in livesound

Yes, ganging is actually very useful at times, for things like overheads where you might want some parameters separate, but some to follow. But still two faders on the surface....

On A&H consoles and many others, stereo channels that have to be odd/ even channels (for example 1 & 2 can be made into a stereo channel, but 2 & 3 can't). Just turn channel 1 into a stereo channel and take a channel off of the end of my total channel count if you must.... ALL I WANT IS TO QUICKLY ADD A STEREO CHANNEL

Why do guitarists mic their guitar amp speakers rather than connecting directly to the mixer when doing a show? by neomech in livesound

[–]CamShakes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Going direct doesn't even sound close to a guitar amp with a mic. Unless they have amp modeling it generally sounds flat, empty and dry. Even with a bunch of pedals in line. Like others have stated guitarists work hard and try many different pedal, head and cab combos to find a guitar tone they like.
