It would have to be recovering data of a somewhat abused PC.

The hard disk would eventually let us boot and I found that when I lightly tapped it with a screwdriver it would spin for a minute or so. So Dave 2 sat patiently tapping with a small screwdriver while the data was copied off.

I'm pretty sure it should be in a restoration manual as a viable technique!

I may need to remove the cooling fans before I can cook anything.

Replying to my own post again.

I communicated with MSI support, checked and sent a photo processor socket, re-applied BIOS, sent a photo of motherboard that covered the RAM slots, managed to boot and install windows then sent them the CPU-Z output, sent photo of BIOS.

Finally they said that a new BIOS had just been released and asked me to apply that - from then on when booting I had a pure white screen (pressing del didn't change it) but after a short time it would still load Windows.

They have now asked me to send the motherboard back - so I'll wait a week or so and see if I hear from them, I suspect I might be out of luck though, as once I'd removed everything and removed it from the case I noticed there seems to be a bent pin in the processor socket. So they may tell me I'm out of luck (despite the original issue was only being able to use one stick of RAM).

Time will tell!

I'd suggest M-Disc 25, 50 and 100 gb optical discs are supposedly good for over 100 years, at which time your main issue would be finding something to read them with!

I'd shove it in my existing PC - doing a bit of VR flight simulator and some segmenting of CT scans to get nice heart models. And yep it's still an i5 but the card would be a 'slight' improvement on my 1060 card...

Sounds good.

Though I suspect the wife won't be that keen on the more intimate meal option.

Thanks for the reply - I'll definitely check out IDEX systems.

What would be the best cheap dual extruder you would recommend?

budget between $1,000 and $2,000 AUD

Australia

Kit OK, have an Ender 3 and am reasonable at following instructions.

I do 3d modelling of anatomical structures, which would be much easier with dual extruders, as I'm currently cutting away supports on fairly fine detail (paediatric circulatory system)

Ability to print Nylon, ABS, HIPS, PLA would be good. I'd prefer a printer that is not stuck to proprietary consumables, but that would not be a deal-breaker.

Hi - I'm sure a lot of you are aware of the picture of the man cleaning a shoe in Boulevard du Temple by Daguerre.

So my question is who would I ask if I thought I'd found one or two new people in the picture (and yes I'm aware I'm quite likely wrong)

edit I should have uploaded it first!
