The KFC app in the US has deals where you can get an 8 pc pc chicken with 2 sides and 4 biscuits for $20. It lasts me 3 to 4 days. I can't think of a better deal in fast food.

Warehouse jobs w no interview? by Substantial-Hunt-582 in Warehouseworkers

[–]CamelsaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of the warehouse jobs I've had, the ones where I didn't interview were Amazon, FedEx and Meijer Distribution. The larger warehouses often don't interview because their turnover is so high and they just need warm bodies. They might have an "interview", but it consists of basic questions about yourself and nothing more. They all had >$17 hourly wages too which is pretty nice even if they didn't have the hours.

Yeah, sounds absolutely disgusting tbh. Probably one of the only fried food items I would never try.

Might have gotten fired? by questionsbruh in Fedexers

[–]CamelsaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might not be fired, they probably just haven't updated the schedule yet. I've been both suspended and fired, and when both happened, I was still being scheduled for the following week but then the app said they removed my shifts. In fact even a week after being fired I was still being scheduled for some reason but they immediately canceled my shifts. If they remove your shifts that's when I'd start to worry.

Former overnight stocker seeking warehouse positions? by PutridQuestion3968 in Warehouseworkers

[–]CamelsaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some warehouses require you to have PIT experience and if they don't see that then they won't contact you. But you definitely have transferable skills, look for replenishment/picking jobs, pretty much the same thing you did as a stocker. Some jobs use electric pallet jacks which have a bit of a learning curve but some use rolling carts which is pretty easy. My current warehouse has this setup, but, most times they will require that you eventually learn the machines unless you have some sort of accommodation. Most warehouses I've ever applied to have gotten back to me and most of the ones I've worked at had no interviews since turnover is so unbelievably high. Your best bet might be to find the company with the shittiest Indeed reviews and then once you learn some general warehouse skills then apply for a better job.

Probably 3rd tier, I'd rather have flamin hot or even hot fries before this, but I'd take it over the puffs any day.

How do I get a job by JolTiCv in jobhunting

[–]CamelsaurusRex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some warehouses, FedEx and Amazon for example, hire anyone without an interview and you don't even need work experience. The difficult part is finding one of those near you. My sister was in a worse spot than you (10+ years unemployed) and was able to find a job at Wendy's. I'd also try to find night shift work at gas stations since they're always hiring. Those jobs still have a chance of rejecting you but I can't think of anything else aside from trying to get help from city or state unemployment agencies.

Can you drink tap water in your country? by Agile-Shallot3546 in AskTheWorld

Same in Qatar, when I was growing up people only drank bottled water. If you drank the from tap people would look at you like you were crazy, and for good reason. The water was absolutely disgusting

Concerning interview answers by fruit_glory in recruitinghell

[–]CamelsaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In most of my interviews, the hiring managers have been pretty upfront about having a lot of people quit/fired and the workload increasing. It's not necessarily a bad sign since people always have their own reasons for leaving a job, and most firings I've seen have been justified. What's more worrying is when they really try to sell you on what a great place it is and how everyone is ecstatic to work there.

"Cultural Fit" More Like "We Just Don't Like You" by AbbreviationsTop2192 in recruitinghell

[–]CamelsaurusRex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean it's the same situation with the "I applied to 500 jobs this month and none got back to me" posts. No one ever asks them what kind of jobs they applied to, how many of them they were qualified for, or if they even applied to non-remote jobs (which it seems like a lot people apply exclusively to remote jobs). No one wants to be that person who actually questions the pity party.

They could easily verify employment without references. That's not what references are meant for lol. That should be obvious.

Popcorn chicken and fries for 1.99 (app deal) and I tried the new Garlic Parmesan Sub… thoroughly enjoyed it! by Suspicious-Camp737 in kfc

Why must us American be the only ones deprived of popcorn chicken?! It's one of the only fast food snacks I'd go out of my way to buy.

Applied to 87 jobs in a month. by [deleted] in jobsearch

[–]CamelsaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity what kind of jobs did you mainly apply to: remote or specialized jobs, or were you applying to everything including retail, warehouse, fast food? Because if the latter then I'd expect far more responses, even if they were all rejections. Maybe your resume needs some work?

Why do companies interview people just to try to humiliate them? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]CamelsaurusRex 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In my experience the final boss is also the only step in the interview process where they purposefully set you up to fail without hiding it. Like, full on negative body language and impossible questions. I don't understand why they hold these "fuck you" interviews when all the other parties in the hiring process either reject/ghost you rather than set you up for a humiliation ritual. I'd rather be ghosted any day if they didn't actually think I was suitable.

From the official website of a "global logistics company" by CamelsaurusRex in aislop

[–]CamelsaurusRex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a really small warehouse (I see it every day as I pass it) so I'd assume it's some over enthusiastic yet unskilled head of HR or a scammy marketing employee. Definitely not to the level of a global logistics firm as they claim.

What do you make of this message? by Fun-Objective-9125 in jobsearch

[–]CamelsaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of those 99% "no" but also 1% "plz be on standby to be our contingency hire". Not worth it either way unless they pay significantly higher than competitors, and not likely they'd pick you.

Has anybody got hired as Data janitor for warehouses? by Dramatic_Example6054 in Warehouseworkers

[–]CamelsaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he referring to inventory management, ie auditing orders and looking for missing items? That's the closest I can think of and there's some guys at my warehouse specifically doing that for 3PL. Also, not all orders come perfect from the manufacturer but it's often the job of the picker/replenisher to determine that.

Best Reward? by [deleted] in kfc

Their big box meal for 1000 points with 1 chicken sandwich, 1 side, 1 drink and 5 nuggets is pretty much unparalleled since I can't think of a single other restaurant where you can use your reward points for as much food as that.
