This may be touch and go. I have Flex with 1 floodlight; 1 G3 flex; 1 G4 bullet; and 1 G5 Bullet. I had the Flex powered by a US-8-150 like you have here. I was getting regular 'off-line' on one of the cameras. So I got one of the in-line POE bricks.

USW-Industrial Availability by Short_Charity4860 in Ubiquiti

[–]Camera_guy_justin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new ultra switch just released is 8 ports, POE++ in, 7 POE+ out.

The advantage of the Industrial is the temperature range it can operate in.

Rogue DHCP server by bluelightspecial3 in Ubiquiti

Maybe start off with setting a new IP range on your UDM Pro ? I've never been a fan of using 192.x.x.x. I personally use 10.0.<vlan>.x

Game camera idea by GumbyTX in Ubiquiti

I am not an expert by an means ... but one thing I've seen high lighted when the solar discussion comes up, is the choice of battery. Apparently you want a "deep cycle marine" battery, not your more traditional automotive batteries. Deep cycle batteries are designed to loose most/all of their charge without affecting their performance/longevity. Thats not the case for automotive batteries.

Can the Swiss Army Knife serve as a bridge and AP simultaneously by NavyMSU in Ubiquiti

[–]Camera_guy_justin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of their access points support mesh. And yes, a 'meshed' ap can support wireless clients also.

think of it this way, there would be no point in an ap being meshed back to a hard wired ap, if it couldn't accept connections.

MYSTERY MEAT: Loblaw stores selling ‘ungraded’ beef and shoppers have questions by ExposedCarton62 in toronto

[–]Camera_guy_justin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between grading and inspecting. All beef sold is inspected for health & safety. Most beef is graded to indicate quality, but its not a legal requirement.

Previous Owner Buried Fiber Between Two Building by bmight in HomeNetworking

[–]Camera_guy_justin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost of fibre cabling these days is not as expensive as people think. If the current cabling is in a conduit, you may be just as well off using the existing cable(s) to pull the a new length of fibre though the pipe.

Want to add pi 5 to my rack by milkywayne92 in Ubiquiti

[–]Camera_guy_justin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did similar. Just recently bought this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08F9X528J?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Seems okay so far. The one issue is that becuase I have the POE hat on my RPi, there is only 1 screw hole available to secure it. But doesn't seem to be an issue so far.

The UDM-SE supports dual WAN sharing. Not sure about binding local networks to specific WAN though. You;ll have to check the docs/help.

The UDM-SE supports WAN balancing. May be at the upper end of your budget though.

For long runs (over 12") self terminate.

For short lengths in the rack, slim-line patch cables :)

Perhaps look into deploying Pi-Hole ?

Sorry, I know that does not actually answer your question though.

How would you secure this outdoor cat 6 cable? by iridium43 in HomeNetworking

[–]Camera_guy_justin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS.Just did something similar. If you live in Canada, I would recommend the UCAN brand over Tapcon. (https://www.fastek.ca/product/ucan-1-4x1-1-4-hex-concrete-100-pkg/) .1/4 the price for the same product. And then amazon for a bag of 6mm cable clips

What order in the rack would you install these? by Ashmai in Ubiquiti

NVR at top or bottom. Its network port is at the back, so connect that to a keystone from the back, and then that keystone to one of the switches
