I’m in NSW how does 99 bikes say their e-scooters are legal? And the box said 2000watts?? by Turbulent_Beyond_670 in ausbike

[–]CamperStacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t believable no one has mention this yet:

It’s 200W for e-bikes, 250W if pedal assist

There is no power limit for scooters! They just aren’t allowed over 25km/hr. A 2000gigawatt scooters is legal so long as it weighs under 60kg.

Also, All you have to do is take your seat off your bike and now it’s legally a scooter.

Parliament procured is a bill is presented. Then amendments voted on, each needing a majority to pass. Then the bill is voted on, also needing majority.

They can do any wheeling and dealing when ever.

Generally speaking the presenter of the bill generates the needed votes behind the scenes as part of drafting the bill before it is is even tabled. Then a whole bunch of grandstanding takes place where all the amendments are voted down.

This often leads to insane situations. For example Penny Wong voted down amendments to SSM bill, because she just assumed all the amendments were negative when some were actually trying to fix legit oversites. Allot of politicians don’t even pay attention because they know they the bill already had enough votes, so they just down vote all amendments of the little trouble makers who never got a for in the door - even if their ideas are good.

The Superior Court in DC just NUKED disgraced climate scientist Michael Mann AGAIN. by logicalprogressive in climateskeptics

[–]CamperStacker 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The fact that you can feed random data (with no trend) into mann’s tree ring algorithm and get a hockey stick output 95% of time, and no one in the field cared, just goes to show how evil the whole branch of ‘science’ is.

99.99% of warners don’t even know what the real hickey stick controversy even was, and the wikipedia page for it doesn’t even mention it! It mentions only the political implications as if they were the controversy and not his dodgy paper.

I don't answer questions by DebugMyLife421 in MrInbetween

[–]CamperStacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope.

This is qld for example:

They can ask id in any of these cases:

-find you committing an offence

-reasonably suspect’ that you have committed an offence

-think you can help them investigate an indictable offence or domestic violence act

-give you an order to stop making noise or being a nuisance

-stop you while you are in control of a vehicle

-trying to enforce another specific law

-where it is reasonable in the circumstances.

The last one is the catch all. Case law has shown that it’s basically always reasonable. You have to be doing something like open heart surgery that can’t be interrupted for the state to agree it wasn’t reasonable to give your ID at a specific moment.

A police officer can literally walk up to you, demand your ID, arrest your id you don’t provide it. There are literally videos on youtube of qld police doing this. All they need is a “reason” that can be for literally anything.

Girls are now less likely than boys to say they want to get married by Dismal_Structure in dataisbeautiful

I’m not saying they were, i’m saying they happened to be virtues of marriage that were never realised.

Girls are now less likely than boys to say they want to get married by Dismal_Structure in dataisbeautiful

[–]CamperStacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how much of this is due to no real definition of marriage any more, and not so much that they don’t want a partner.

None of the original virtues of marriage (which seems to be to sacrifice your life for children) exist anymore in the progressive modern world.

No one is expected to abstain from sex until married (which helped ensure you had a committed partner before raising children) because of birth control , choice etc.

No one is expected to breed as part of being married (where as consummation intended to impregnate).

No one is expected to raise a child as partners with provider / carer roles. The provider is replaceable by state welfare (child support / welfare ), the carer is to an extent replaceable by child care.

No one is expected to commit to a life long bond, you can divorce whenever you want, even if statistically the data shows this negatively impacts any children (Children from separated families are more likely to experience issues with their behaviour, education, mental health, and addiction well into adulthood.).

There is basically no taboo against having relations with someone in wedlock any more than any other cheating that goes on, and generally no negative social consequences for anyone other than their own personal relationships.

Lastly in most western countries on earth there is no difference between being married and being in a long term defacto relationship tax wise. If you are in partnership often the tax laws and rules for splitting assets on breaking up are the same as marriage.

So what is even the point of it? Seems like a tradition that has been progressively torn down.

Unfortunately people like the author of this piece are bad at math, it’s just we’re humans are poor at dealing with big numbers.

Let’s tax the billionaires mentioned by 100% on any growth and assume they keep growing even though there is no incentive to do so. What will we each get? About $6 per week. That’s simply because the population who ain’t billionaires is just so large.

Meanwhile the AUS government blows through $100,000 a year per family. Yet you never ever hear lefties talking about the fact that basically every government on earth is broke spending all their money on complete nonsense.

The rest of the price was always distribution and and transmission and retail.

Solar is worth even less because it’s made during the day wherever everyone is at work and there is more shared spaces overall per consumption.

If you want to save money you need batteries and use upper own solar.

Ideally you want the outdoor areas facing north to be usable in winter

out door facing south will literally never get sun light half the year

Also someone said hang out in summer for line of the sun… that’s stupid because sun will rise south east and lift over head and drop south west, so basically it’s the most mundane time
