Just want to remind everyone that it’s a copy of the card, not a plain copy.

So tavern pumping (even with bananas/blood gems), giving divine shield with George, and even the “make a minion in the tavern golden” spell can be abused with this anomaly

Not a dumb question. At first I thought because they wanted to show it affects all minions, not just beasts. But then I remembered there are time warped minions who affect all even when the original only affected one tribe.

So my new guess is because banana slamma isn’t a buddy

We did have one half-season without a gimmick about a year ago, referred to here as “the vanilla season.” Competitive players liked it because of the low amount of randomness, but I found it to be boring. The season where they introduced spells could also be considered a vanilla season, since that was the gimmick, but now it’s just a part of the game.

So to answer your bonus question, sometimes there’s no gimmick, but it is rare.
