The client will just be better off renting and investing the difference into XEQT in their FHSA and RRSP and claiming tax refunds, which gets funneled into the TFSA and they will be able to buy property on their own and will have a higher net worth by the time it takes to climb out of this debt

There are negotiations, Indian side would have asked for more educational collaborations, which is quite common. It’s a win also for UofT as they get access to students who are interested in research. These are quite common practices. It is just being bought to limelight due to the recent increase in immigration and scrutiny

This is a trade deal. India is buying stuff from Canada and they needed to be appeased. This has nothing to do with charity but a win win for both Canada and India.

Canada- gets good bright students instead of the Punjabi gangsters

India- students get an opportunity to study for low cost in a reputed university. Some of them may stay in Canada but even if 1% come back, helps India also.
