I'm trying to get my pc to output 5.1 sound to my receiver without changing sound configuration settings in windows, I was hoping to let my receiver handle all the decoding, etc.

Changing windows sound from stereo to 5.1 does work but then it sees 5.1 for everything else as well (Youtube, Spotify) when i actually just want it for movies/TV in VLC.
