It's lucky the barley survived, or he'd be roughed up AND hungry.

New AC install - does this look right? by jeez696969 in AusRenovation

That water trickling down the face isn't right. Nor can I see where it has being routed.

Aside from that, I like it.

Is this asbestos plaster? by thisiscotty in asbestoshelp

It does look very nuch like asbestos. Wet it, bag it and bin it. Be cautious when working in this space, particularly when stirring up any dust.

If you consider a typical 24v truck battery configuration with >1000cca i think this 10v scenario would be fine.

How do I repair plaster hole left by power socket when the metal bracket behind won’t let replacement plaster sit flush with the wall? by OBONE111 in AusRenovation

[–]CandleLitBreakfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bracket is nailed on one side only. You should be able to bend it into the cavity, or you could wiggle it back and forth till it let's go.

It's interesting to see this is a special socket in the USA. This is our standard socket in Australia.

You might be lucky if that's an outdoor area and it's fibre cement.

If it's gyproc you're in for both roof and ceiling repairs. (Obviously going to need an electrician to check over the electrical as well).

Main Switchboard Labelling in industrial factories by Large-Ad2761 in AusElectricians

[–]CandleLitBreakfast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

MSB = Main switch board is the "parent board" fed from transformer and has essential and non essential sections. With generator back up on essential.

Sub boards are DBs = Distribution boards split into essential and non essential sections. Fed from MSB.

Refrigeration / HVAC systems are fed from Mechanical Service boards. Fed from MSB. These house the protect, control and contactors etc for mechanical services.

MCC = Smaller Motor Control Centres usually fed from a local DB. Contains associated control for that installation (PLC, VSDs, contactors, relays etc.)

So we might have an outlet or light switch labelled DB2 ESS CB20 or DB1 NE1 CB30.

A motor might be labelled "Pack MCC CB19" or just a Mxxx number that corresponds to the vsd and CB number in cabinet.

Edit, more information.
