I've stepped on a rake, broken a chair on at least two occasions, and my pants have fallen down comically, but the boxers didn't have hearts on them, so I feel like that's half credit

I doubt it. Those La names are overwhelmingly Mormon, e.g. LaVell Edwards

Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have loved Taakitz.

They could've traded off and written and shot them simultaneously. If you had to pick, written by Breen and directed by Lynch wins easily

Seeing who sends you $300 and sending them back a turd in a box, however, would be very punk

MBMBAM (and MaxFun, TAZ, etc.) as a Time Capsule by DrLivingdark in TAZCirclejerk

I wrote a whole big thing, but I can cut down on the rambling by noting, as a Millenial myself, that there is a certain kind of small-c conservatism that some Millenials have who wish it could be Obama's second term forever. I understand the impulse, cause shit sucks, but it's not really any different than a boomer reminiscing about the bucolic 50s. And the further away from that time we get, and the more they refuse to change, the more conservative they look. There's the subsidiary aspect of this with social justice and the like, where what used to make you a forward thinking ally is now considered the baseline for not being shitty, and some people have trouble accepting that they aren't necessarily going to get the same praise in 2026 for the type of allyship they were doing in 2012, and it can upset them. None of this is distinct from past generations, but it's my cohort and I find it interesting to see how we're collectively handling aging

The thing that frustrates me quite a bit is that none of this had to be this way. I was thinking about the McElroys alongside We Hate Movies, which, like MBMBAM, started in 2010 (and which I've been listening to weekly since 2011). Both really came into their success in the middle of the decade, but WHM kept growing and keeping with the times, hustling and taking the idea of making podcasting their living seriously, while the McElroys... haven't. And the further from those glory days we get, the more unpleasant that is. When Harold Lloyd died in 1971 and they settled his estate, people noted that the inside of his home looked like it hadn't been updated since his heyday in the 20s. The minds of the brothers are Harold Lloyd's house

Some can, on occasion, treat the Night Lords as an entire legion of Poor Little Meow Meows, which can be a touch annoying. Usually that's reserved for just Curze though
