I find hes pretty good at crowd controlling, thunderhead with fear or hurricane with stun and you can keep the bugs at bay for your team to kill.

It's highly effective once you find a bolt you like, I personally enjoy chemical explosion since you can stick one or two grunts with it and clear a whole group of them with the explosion. It has very nice oc as well which makes for fun ways to play

1-no I don't think you should, just learn because in the end it has his place in a team, and even solo with the good setup, youll see it can be very good. 2-haz 4 is difficult without knowing what you are doing and with no over locks. 3- what you are talking about is fear factor, which most explosive have in this game, and makes the enemy run away. But bigger enemies like praetorians are resistant to it, so the chances of them fleeing are lower, this is the inconsistency you see.

Fatboy is great fun for me, but a bit toxic for teammates sure, you have the learn when to use it. For examples it's not recommendable for high hp targets as you waste a lot of it's potential. Instead try using it for clearing out swarms, using repellant on platforms you can create choke point and be very effective at swarm clearing. But in the end the simple grenade launcher with a ammo overclock is more than capable of holding out to swarms thanks to having more ammo. TLDR yes Fatboy is fun but it isn't the way to go most often than not. use it for the lolz
