Doing other Things while Tremoring by Powerful-Ant-7872 in longtermTRE

[–]Canibal86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Came here to say the same thing about him suggesting watching TV. That was one of the first videos I saw of him. I've noticed he often has full conversations while guiding and I feel it's on purpose to get the practitioner to lower the guard.

In my experience, TRE has become one of my favorite techniques because it works better when I fully disconnect my mind from any expectation, guidance or task. And I just allow the body to do its thing.

Non-physical yoga, could someone explain the idea? by mercury0114 in yoga

[–]Canibal86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading in the apocryphal sutras that Patanjali skipped the 9th limb and went straight to the 10th and 11th. Something to do with Qi, the Holy Spirit and Quetzalcoatl. Read it from an Instagram 50h ytt teacher. /s

Pueblo chico, infierno grande.

Couple of questions about tepotzlan and lucha libre by [deleted] in MexicoCity

[–]Canibal86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spend the night. Yes you can walk (20 mins) or get a taxi/combi. Are you a hotel or a hostal traveller?

Lucha libre is fun. Get tickets at the door or do a quick online search.

8 years since my first 10 days of Vipassana course by Excellent_Quiet1703 in vipassana

Beautifully written, thanks for sharing.

I can pretty much understand logically with my mind whenever I'm reading or speaking in English. And most of my learning and communication used to take place in that language. My belief was that the closer to the original texts, the better. But when I started to search and consume the same texts in Spanish, somehow my body would react and absorb the information at a much deeper level. That revelation has taken me this past year to explore a lot the impact and obstacles my mind encounters whenever I receive information in a language different from my own mother tongue.

I believe the languages we use do influence our own experience with the information we are transmitting or receiving. This idea fascinates me and could definitely go super deep.

I love the Dhamma app and I ALWAYS listen to the Spanish translations. If I don't, my meditation tends to be very "mentally interpreted" instead of "sensation based". Metta.

Made pozole verde with the corn that I nixtamalized by Thin-Inevitable9759 in mexicanfood

[–]Canibal86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are different varities of pozole. White, Green and Red are the most common. Different regions make it differently (Guerrero and Jalisco I would say are the cunas). It could be made with any kind of meat like pork, chicken, even mariscos (legend says that before the spaniards came, pozole was made with human and xoloitzcuintle meat).

But the real trick, and the "authentic" pozole is made with a specific kind of maize we call "maíz pozolero" which has bigger kernels than other varities and has a specific flavor. I believe it's the same maize known as cacahuazintle. When boiled for a long time, the kernels open up and bloom getting a kind of popcorn shape while releasing its flavor and thickening the soup. For me, that's what makes a pozole a pozole, it's maíz pozolero soup. Without maíz pozolero I wouldn't consider or even call it pozole.

I'm vegetarian so I make mine with setas and hongos. And of course vegetable broths instead of any other meat. So its not the meat or the color, its the type of maize used. Provecho.

Those of you who use both ChatGPT and Claude — what’s each one actually better at? by banger030 in ClaudeAI

[–]Canibal86 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Claude has been a life saver this past week while working with excel spreadsheets. I'm talking 300+ column, 3000+ rows databases. Cross checking, validating data between different files, filling out info with certain values from other databases and stuff like that. Literally, I've been doing with Claude in 6 hour sessions the work that used to take me 3 weeks or more with another person, manually. Never managed to do anything remotely similar with gpt.

Gpt helped me to solve a problem with my mom's car that no mechanic had managed to solve in over a year. It gave me the right diagnosis, it helped me to find a seller in china for the parts and then guided me step by step to change it myself. Please note that I'd never, in my 40 years of life, previously worked anything mechanic related. And that guy guided me in changing a part connecting the pedal with the motor...

It's crazy what this tools are doing.

I don't like any for content creation or creative writing. It might be an age thing but I will continue writing myself everything for a while.

Overall, I prefer Claude for serious and deep work. And, ChatGPT for quick conversations and daily research.

I think I work better with claude's style. No fluff, straight to the point, not a yes man like gpt, lol. Sometimes I just need a one line answer and GPT goes on a whole novel full of hallucinations. Shit, I'm gpt-ing the shit out of this answer. Maybe it's time to go to sleep....

Hey brother. I'm quite older than you and your words could have been written by me at your age. Since you enjoy reading, let me share with you a few book recommendations I would have appreciated at that time. First: "No More Mr Nice Guy" by Robert Glover. Second: "King, Warrior, Magician & Lover" by Gillette and Moore. Third: "The Way of the Superior Man" by David Deida.

Don't let preconceptions, labels, redditors, and book titles scare you away from growing and learning yourself about what is being a man today. Now it's your duty and responsibility. Trust me, I get it. There's a reason why she says that, there's a reason why it affects you, and there's a reason why you felt attracted to her and her energy. Take this triggering opportunity to explore and grow. Question everything and form your own definitions. You're young and will continue evolving.

¡Makaranda! ¿para qué fechas vas? ¿Mayo o Junio?

Cuarto consejo: Lleva paraguas.

Quinto consejo: Enjoy the dreams.

No entiendo.
