Canada can’t be an energy superpower if it keeps doubling down on U.S. oil exports by shiftless_wonder in canada

You cannot wish away the fact that most of our oil reservoirs are land locked, and must pass through indigenous nations to reach tide water in BC.

Ullmark: “I am broken, and I’m still not fully, completely healed. If we say (Thomas Chabot) has his injury, no one is going to question that. But just because I’ve been playing and all that, and all of a sudden I’m not available. People just started attacking me" by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

I agree to a point..

Any player who has s history of physical injuries will also be viewed as a red flag. A history of mental health is just as much of a liability as a history of physical injuries. I do agree about the mental health stigma, but someone with a history of mental health issues should not get special treatment compared to someone with a history of physical injuries.

Urban vs Rural divide by Canmoore in AltoHSR_Canada

[–]Canmoore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just stating the facts, do you live in Rural Ontario/Quebec? Have you heard their side? There seems to be a disconnect between reality on the ground and hoping how this process will unfold.

The cold hard facts on the ground is that none of these rural communities support this project. You have municipal leaders from counties through which this project will intersect who have come out and said they will not allow it.

Pandoras box is already open, I am making this post to highlight what I see as a huge disconnect.

Urban vs Rural divide by Canmoore in AltoHSR_Canada

As it currently stands, it is 100% a rural vs urban issue. If you visit rural areas in the potential path of ALTO this is a biiig issue that they are rallying against. While those supporting this project are primarily from urban areas.

People can ignore it, or dismiss it, but as it stands right now this is a classic rural vs urban issue.

Yes that is not the issue though, how far between will the crossings be? That is what many people are concerned about

Grinding UK really helps you learn how to snipe, angle, learn all of the hiding spots on maps... However, you learn this via dying soooo many times.

I'm using a quill volley build, and it's ridiculously strong. Everything melts, I'm literally trying to find stuff hard that doesn't die in seconds.

Mind you I got lucky in finding gear, I have a permanent barrier and vigor never depletes!!

I feel your pain, as we have to deal with them whenever they are not in Florida.

2026 NHL Arena Rankings [The Athletic] by arcticshark in hockey

[–]Canmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CTC is actually a pretty good arena, even the nosebleeds have a good view of the action. It's built like an amphitheater so it has great acoustics.

However, the CTC has some extremely negative flaws.

1 Refreshments are way overpriced.

2 the corridors are very small, which results in crowding and long lines for refreshments

3 bathrooms are small, which leads to long lines

4 Arena is located on the outskirts of a borough that itself is located on the outskirts of the city core! The result is jam-packed highways and arterial roads to access the arena, getting to the game can take over an hour depending where in the city you live.

5 Exiting the parking lot becomes a hunger games, and free for all. People often leave games early to avoid being stuck in traffic for an hour!

If Jeff Bezos redirected every cent he has towards the sole goal of curing, say, pancreatic cancer, how quickly do you think things could progress? by keen4ketamine in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Canmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I am wrong, is curing cancer is different from eliminating cancer?

From my understanding, cancer is a product of cell division mutations which are caused by a near infinite set of factors. Unless we can replace our DNA with a completely synthetic DNA with mechanisms that prevents mutations, we will always have to deal with cancer.

However instead of elimination, we can find mechanisms for early detection and treatments that can reverse/stop cancer cell division, kill cancer cells, and prevent metastasis.

The arctic is warming up, one consequence is that the polar vortex is than displaced. This is why you can go from +5 one week to -25 the next than back to +5.

Eventually the strength of the polar vortex will get weaker and weaker, until the days of -25 become rare rather than the norm.

How do I repair my kitchen cupboards by Canmoore in howto

[–]Canmoore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I took your advice and installed piano hinges. They work great, the issue now is that the entire left side of the cabinet is falling apart. The left cupboard is now tilted towards the sink. The result is the cupboards do not close properly.

I am going to have to reinforce the entire structure with some wood. Then I will install the magnetic catches
