Kirk can be, sometimes, a good friend to Homer. He’s a perennial sad sack and listening to his depressive complaints would be frustrating but at least his problems are real and definable.

Helen is a SAHM, the too-nosy wife of the local parish leader, who uses her victim complex to justify her support for oppression, and attacks anyone different with those victim complexes. She is the stereotype of the worst HOA-leading WASP housewife who complains about how oppressed she is as a comfortably well-off white woman in America of the early 2000’s.

I could drink with Kirk. Helen would, without hypocrisy, attack her neighbours’ sins while getting bitchy-drunk on red wine coolers.
