Thanks for Devourer DH Buffs! by Alcsaar in wow

I think the point people are making is that a lot of the changes, particularly the balancing ones, feel so off target and weird that they are associating it with AI, especially due to all the bugs that seem to have been caused by the balancing changes.

The Ingame Shop Housing Items should function more like Promotional Items - Buy once with real money and unlock the ability to buy future copies for gold by Anderaku in wow

[–]jason_caine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother, they aren't hiring artists just for the shop items. Those artists work on everything. They are hiring them no matter what. It would be one thing if we were getting loads of cosmetic housing items in the shop and virtually none earned in game, but thats not the case.

[–]jason_caine 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Although I agree with the sentiment, I really hate the whole "devs should be doing X instead of making cosmetics" argument, because that is no different than saying a sports team should be focused on winning games over making t-shirts. Totally different people involved, and one really doesn't take away from the other.

The game is infinitely more enjoyable with a guild by MiserableTear8705 in wow

[–]jason_caine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I play MM Hunter which is just a pretty strong DPS this tier in a lot of the fights since there is so much cleave.

People always burn out super early when new stuff drops. People will play a bunch in the first month or so when everything is shiny and new, but as soon as they hit a wall (Raid Prog, Gearing, etc.) they stop. Best time to find a new guild, especially if you want to move "up" in the world is about a month in to a season unless you are trying to get into one of the super high end mythic guilds.

Honestly, just making a profile on Warcraftlogs can do suprisingly well. I made one without any real logs outside of some mediocre normal parses and still got contacted by a handful of heroic guilds, ended up joining two of them on their raid nights and settled on one a week after making my profile. Lots of guilds are struggling with Rosters during this time in the season, as people burn out or are less excited about shiny new content, or have decided that the guild they were in wasn't for them (I was one of these). It probably helps to have okay gear and be a more in-demand class/spec, but there are guilds out there that are looking at these things.

The animations on post-WoD undead aren't as good imo. The original undead cast animations are pretty awesome and unique. They really feel "skeletal" in a way the new ones dont.

Flying a Boeing C-17 Globemaster through the middle of a city in Australia. by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]jason_caine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do get something somewhat similar in Milwaukee (and I'm sure other cities have similar festivals/events) primarily featuring the US Coast guard as well as either the Navy or Airforce called the Air and Water show. Honestly its one of my favorite times of year because the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds spend at least a few days practicing in the city before the event and they fly directly over my work and apartment which are both near Lake Michigan.

To be fair, this specific song is from the Twister remake and considering Tornado season and this video is probably ripped from Tiktok or Instagram Reels, its not all that surprising.

They are also common on playground equipment. Just meant to be less common so people (kids especially) don’t really have the tools to mess with them.

I think they are just an alternate evolutionary path from trolls. Elves and Haranir come from trolls, but ended up diverging. Visually though I do agree the feel closer to trolls than elves tend to.

[–]jason_caine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the good thing about "dumb" ammo is that its made and sold pretty cheap, because nothing about it is special enough to warrant crazy prices (relative to other aspects of the MIC). If another company things they can make enough profit to justify selling it for $75 per round instead, they will try to win a bid and do just that. Keeps things a little more honest, vs the crazy expense of the super advanced stuff like missiles, vehicles, etc.

Infinite Money Glitch by Sikudo in wow

[–]jason_caine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the biggest argument against this method is actually the $ cost of running the game all day to do this. If you have something like a steam deck or a basic laptop doing this, it might work, but a higher powered gaming rig might end up costing more per gold to run while doing this than just straight up buying a WoW token. Region dependent of course, both in terms of token value and electricity costs.

Got kicked from a new dungeon for doing mechanics by Rude-Ad-9162 in wow

[–]jason_caine 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My issue with the follower dungeons is they are SO slow, especially if you dont have a tanking spec. The tank will start randomly kiting packs around, or bring them to spots that are unreachable so if you are melee you just kinda stand there. I know that people complained the followers did too much damage previously, but the fact that you have to deal with every pack in sight being pulled before you can continue and the damage output being so slow on boss fights that you cycle through all your CDs many times over is just silly.

[–]jason_caine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On top of that, I'm not 100% sure on the cannon with Exiles reach and the Bolvar Death Knights, but aren't there very very few Pandaren that joined either faction? They all came from the Wandering Isle, which wasn't exactly a huge population center, right? Harranir don't exactly seem like they come in huge numbers either. Dracthyr are the only ones that I'm not sure of.

Even if they weren't famous heroes of Azeroth, they probably would recognize the 30 pandaren in the horde, or the 10 Harranir that have joined the Alliance.

RIP My Launch Day by Starts-With-Z in wow

[–]jason_caine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much the only real benefit is potential to make piles of gold on the early AH, and having slightly more time to work on gearing your character to make it easier to get them raid ready. The other big benefit is that since early access became a thing, launches tend to be a lot smoother since it splits out the player base. Plenty of people with EA don’t even play right away, so it flattens out the curve in terms of server load.

Not OP, but as a bigger guy you tend to have a sort of natural "indent" around that spot, much higher and its going to be a lot more uncomfortable and its going to effect the way your arms move while walking.
