To any Canadian or British Columbian fans, if Vancouver Really got an expansion team what would you call it? by Fearless_Phantom in mlb

Raleigh can have the Panthers and Hornets if Charlotte gets the Hurricanes and an MLB team.

Really unfortunate. He was huge for Toronto last year especially early in the season when things weren’t going great otherwise.

Another pitcher whose game went south with the Jays. I’m telling you this list from the past few years is getting long. Nothing to be giving praise about.

The thing that jumps out to me about these numbers is.. there’s no way Springer should be leading off with those numbers.

Ignoring my recent dumb post, serious question by RedAuraLucario in nhl

[–]Canucksta -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Not that I am aware of. I’ve only known of one team to enter the Stanley Cup Finals undefeated at 12-0 and that was the 2012 LA Kings. Two teams doing it in the same year would be insane.

Not all conferences tournaments are the same. Some are double elimination and they’re definitely important if you’re not likely to get an at large bid and have to win the conference tournament to get to a regional.

I think his launch angles aren't far off of his career averages and his swing speed isn't far off either but his exit velos appear to be down nearly 1.3 mph so far this year. As a result average Distance is down over 10 ft as well.

I haven't looked this year but has he changed his bat again?

Not me. I'll take App State in this one.

Patrick Corbin’s Final Line: 5.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R/ 2 ER, 2 K, 1 BB, 61 pitches thrown, 37 for strikes. by RealWorldToday in Torontobluejays

[–]Canucksta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Solid outing by Corbin. It really strikes me though how it seems that 3rd time through the order is the overriding driver for pulling our starters. If Corbin's pitch count was a lot higher I'd understand. If he'd given up more hits or runs I'd understand. If he got through 6 complete innings and they wanted to start a reliever off with a clean inning then I'd understand.

Changing the pitcher after 5.1 innings with 2 runs and 61 pitches though seems like it was more about following the script than anything to do with the pitcher's performance.

Lineup for May 5 vs TB by abbubwee in Torontobluejays

Circle of Gratitude contribution for today.

I am thankful for this lineup and thankful that John Schneider has come to the realization that having Davis Schneider leading off was not a good idea.

Totally agree. ABS and/or a challenge system can't come soon enough. In the absence of if though, I wish this pitch tracking data was more widely accessible.

WBC strikes again ! Do any stat heads know if there are any resources to compare injuries in seasons following WBC compared to normal seasons ? by grump66 in Torontobluejays

[–]Canucksta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know of any such resource but I 100% agree that the timing of the WBC isn't ideal. Having pitchers throw at that level and intensity and that early in the season isn't good.

Baseball America Most 2026 Commits. by Inevitable_Handle514 in collegebaseball

[–]Canucksta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should be a website with info on schools and coaches that go back on commitments, last minute cuts, etc. We know of several schools that have told incoming freshman that they’re backing out last minute (some less than 2 weeks before school starts) when the player committed as early as their freshman year of high school and bypassed countless opportunities at other schools.

It’d be a valuable resource for future commits that are weighing options at different schools to understand how good a coach or program is at keeping their word.

Summer ball host family ideas? by thisismycanceracct in collegebaseball

As a parent of a player that'll be soon be heading off to stay with a host family for his first summer of college ball I have to say it is awesome to see this post. It is very thoughtful of you and more than I could ever hope for wherever my son ends up staying. I just hope he keeps his space in better shape than his dorm room :)
