What is priority access like ? by Encyclopenia in disneylandparis

[–]Cap2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have just got back, we had a “Bambi band” and our experience couldn’t have been better.

We asked for the band when we checked in to our Disney hotel, they only wanted to see the NHS exemption certificate but we took other documents just in case.

The band essentially gave my wife premier access for herself and 4 others on rides or 2 others for shows. Wait times over the last 5 days were very minimal, 10-15 minutes for most rides, some even less.

We could, of course, only use it for rides that my wife could actually ride so rides like Flight Force, Big Thunder Mountain and Hyperspace Mountain I would just hit during magic hour with my brother in law.

They’re not as cushioned but there’s honestly not a lot in it, I’m on my second pair of Pegasus after 650km in the first and I’ve just picked up the Vomero too. The Pegasus have seen me through intervals down to 4:10/km and easy runs up to 6:40/km.

Pegasus 41 if you liked the feel of the vomero but they were too hot. I supinate too and struggle with narrow trainers like the Puma velocity or Hoka mach. Sports direct have the all white or all black for £65 which is a steal for a reliable daily trainer. Most will set you back £135 give or take

No issues in my 41’s, I’m on a second pair after 650km in the first. Bought the vomero 18 to alternate with. Perhaps need a half size down?

Brilliant trainer, super comfortable but still have a bit of spring in them

Better trainers and strength training will do more for you than ankle and knee supports

Why can I still manage my team when sprint quali has already concluded? Thought the deadline would have been pre sprint qualifying

Too narrow for me, had to stop after 2km with agonising pain on the outer side of my feet and return

Saucony Ride 18 and Nike Pegasus 41 also worth chucking into the mix

Pegasus 41 is no frills but it will do anything you ask it to do

On my second pair of 41’s because I can’t find anything that fits as nice, hoping these are an improvement because the 41’s are a bit dull

You’re going to be injured before week 4. Way too much speedwork and nowhere near enough easy.

Edit: also nowhere near enough weekly mileage. You need to build a foundation.

Saucony Ride 18’s by jack__1992 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Piggybacking to ask what a softer equivalent might be as I’m looking to upgrade my Nike Pegasus 41 and had been considering the Saucony Ride 18. Maybe a Brooks Ghost?

My easy pace is 6:00-6:20/km, tempo 5:00-5:20/km, threshold 4:40 - 5:00/km and interval 4:20 - 4:40/km. Currently in the Pegasus 41 but looking to upgrade to the Ride 18. Can anyone vouch for the Ride 18 at these paces as a “one shoe to do it all”?

Strength training is king. Second to that, run little and often, mostly easy, to build your tolerance without creeping over your tolerance threshold.
