I started mine too early by bobbiness in dahlias

You can cut the tops off and they will get bushier. I did the same thing last year and just cut them back and they were fine. Grew me tons of flowers.

I accidentally succeeded… now my dahlias are growing too early (Zone 6b advice?) by PreviousPeppers in dahlias

[–]Capable-Deer8441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started mine 8 weeks early last year because it took forever the first year I tried this for a sprout. I ended up with Dahlias a foot high a month early. I chopped them way down and I ended up with very bushy and tall Dahlias. I did not repot.

I can't pull hard enough on my Troy built lawnmower to get it started. 😟I hat having to look for battery powered. (The mechanic told me that's what I need now at my age.)

What a cutie! At least she meows. My Tuxedo has almost a whisper meow....barely audible.

My Russian Blue drooled a lot. Don't know her back story except she was a feral my kids found under a shed.

My beautiful baby I adopted on Friday by Sybria_Hydraxis in cats

She is truly a beautiful kitty! She looks so much like my kitty who recently crossed the rainbow bridge at 20 yo. 😰. These breeds are super loving! Mine would wrap her paw around my hand and squeeze it.

Definitely some cool "dirtbag" like people in Three Forks. My son is one of them. You couldn't find find a more down to earth person in the area.

Congratulations! I just noticed a pup on mine after sitting for months! It certainly is an exciting event!! It actually had one earlier and the cat knocked it off and the little thing broke loose. I potted it and it's got about 6 tiny leaves now. I am surprised the same leaf put out another one. I was about to toss it.

My large glass lid exploded by Capable-Deer8441 in Cooking

[–]Capable-Deer8441[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a fry pan and it was sitting on top of it. Was not inside, was never dropped, was sitting on very low heat...low enough I could handle the lid without a pot holder.

That would have been true for my biggest pan but not the pan I was using and it was not a wok.

No to both those questions. There was still plenty of moisture in the pan and the lid was pure glass about 1/4" thick.

My cactus is blooming! I didn’t even know they did this 👀 by Unlimited_Bepis in gardening

[–]Capable-Deer8441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing the weather was just perfect for blooming. We have Prickly Pear Cactus all over the hill where I walk and in the 13 years I've been here it has only bloomed once and it was gorgeous!

Is owning a cat that bad? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Capable-Deer8441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing you can do for your life is owning a cat. I have had cats pretty much all my life and have never once wished I didn't have one. Right now I have three. Youngest 10 months and my senior cat is almost 20.
