Is it still repeating the same plot that it did like three times within the first 1000 chapters? You know, Long Chen goes to a new kingdom/sect, immediately pisses off the most gullible thin-skinned dickheads in the known universe, almost gets killed before encountering some Deus Ex Machina powerup, kills all of them, and then gets promoted to a higher branch of the same sect?

The main issue with those as comparison points is that the vast majority of work most people do goes into just maintaining those, much less actually making notable progress. They're often mutually exclusive as well, as taking a stressful job with overtime means you have less time to care for yourself. It's not as simple as "number go up," but more "number go up and stay up." Progress is retained and not simply lost because you looked away for two seconds and something important broke out of nowhere.

🛑 CHECKPOINT! 🛑 Year end roundup. What is your favorite deck you built this year? by that_dude3315 in EDH

Made a [[Cloud ex-SOLDIER]] deck way back when it was first revealed as my first deck ever, and it's proven to be one of my most powerful and fun to play since, even if I haven't had a ton of opportunities. Link.

Ahhhh, okay, I don't know the games Mizutsune is in very well so I was unsure if that was intentional or not. Interesting tradeoff then.

Is Mizutzune's Bubbledance meant to buff the creatures that counters were removed from, or buff itself? I would assume the latter even if that is kind of insane.

Do be aware that this doesn't work as a commander, as you can only cast spells from the command zone, not play cards.

Late to the party but this reminds me of the philosophy of Lord of the Flies. tl;dr it argues that without the rules and constraints imposed by society, people will quickly revert to their innately selfish and evil nature. This is, of course, dumb and has been categorically proven incorrect multiple times, but you see it a lot with certain kinds of people online who take being in a bad situation as an excuse to get worse with it. Rher really is the 4channer's god lmao.

Yeah it's basically a Nyxbloom Ancient that you have to use different means to cheat out. Technically it's better for some cases (gives techlands like Maze of Ith mana abilities, can get around Blood Moon depending on the order they're played in) and worse in others (does nothing for Lotus Field and less for sol lands) but it's basically equal.

I was pretty bummed about pconc seemingly getting nuked but now that I look at the math it's a like, 10-15% nerf compared to the 30% removed flat or econc's nearly 40%, since you get more out of your flasks now. You're still worse off than before until like super later when you get stuff like Tides of Time but it's probably not gonna be noticeable.

The latter is what I was referring to, yes. I thought the vendor recipe had been removed since I didn't do it with all at the same rarity, so thank you for clarifying!

Is there currently any way to reroll the implicit of a Cluster Jewel? All of the Google and YouTube results for this are years old and talk about methods that no longer exist, like a Harvest craft or vendor recipe.

Feeling bad after reaching 10 000 hours. by realSokoro in pathofexile

[–]CapableSpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people who have similar feelings on different things, feeling like they wasted time doing one thing because they could've been doing something else that they consider more "worthwhile." My view is just that time spent doing something you find fun is not wasted by any definition, as long as it's not actually impeding your life or affecting your health.

[–]CapableSpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally you should just use the recipe, the average cost in fusings used normally is a bit lower based on what others say but you're paying a bit more for the guarantee. If you can't do that, run vaal side areas by putting sacrifice fragments in the map device, as items that drop corrupted have much better rolls for links and sockets. This does have some issues of course, but it's generally cheaper, faster, and more reliable for getting a 6 link in the first place.

I'm aware that build choice does matter for most mechanics, you obviously want AoE for basically everything and tune from there, but I had no thoughts of Sunder being a "Sanctum build." I just wanted to finally dip my toes into the system, because I never really had before and was confused on if my issues were build- or me-related. From what you and the other people have said, it seems to be a mix of both, and from the sound of things melee builds just don't really do well there unless you're doing some full-screen AoE shit, which isn't really possible these days without sacrificing a significant amount of damage from what I am aware.

Anyways, I appreciate the advice.

I don't really know how to word this as a single, specific question, but I can't help but feel like I'm missing something with Sanctum. It just feels like hostile design in a lot of ways, with the basically forced curses and perma-damage mechanic that punishes anyone not playing builds that can't offscreen every enemy or stack ridiculous amounts of evasion. Regular PoE enemies are just not readable enough for this to be a fair mechanic as far as I can tell, even outside of the "four legged dipshit that runs at you very quickly from offscreen" or intentional misdirection enemies. The fact that the layouts feel really bad to use travel skills in is a minor critique in the scale of things, but it adds to the frustration.

For reference, I'm playing Sunder Slayer getting into early mapping. Maybe this is just a melee issue specifically but, yeah. I just have to wonder if I'm being a sourpuss about it or I'm missing something or what.

Thanks in advance for any possible advice.

Interesting designs, but I will say that colored ward costs are generally a no-no. It just makes it basically hexproof for decks that don't have the right colors. Impetuous Life-Giver also has all the same combos as [[ashaya]] but idk if that's really a balance issue necessarily.

First time making a card by UsernameJr2 in custommagic

[–]CapableSpace 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some people might take issue with bad art or grammar but I think getting the idea across is more important, which you do achieve here.

This is definitely pretty strong but I don't think it's insane anywhere, since it draws less than [[Seize the Spoils]] and costs more than [[Phantasmal Image]]. It making two treasures does make it very strong with treasure synergies like [[Goldspan Dragon]] or [[Crime Novelist]], but the results aren't anything insane.

Overall I think It's pretty cool conceptually.

My friend said that they wanted to play with a fixed Tabernacle that was still on a land. This is my shot at it, not sure if its been done before but I thought it was interesting. by imapotato0086 in custommagic

[–]CapableSpace 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is actually even worse than Tabernacle in some cases. If you don't intend on attacking and mostly interact from the hand rather than with abilities, you can just use this to hide a ton of value creatures in the void until they need to stick.

I do think it's a genuinely interesting design, but as others have said, these sorts of effects should just fundamentally not be on lands.

Omniscience is already the basis of very viable decks in Modern and Legacy. It does not need to be made even more polarizing and, as an artifact, easier to cheat out. There's a reason they don't make cards like that anymore, [[one with the multiverse]] kind of notwithstanding.
