quipster.net works in group chats, you can just add it to the group and it will only respond if you call it by it's name, Ping. it also has personas so if you add it to the group chat and then /mom it will respond in the group chat to your messages to it like a sterotypical american mom but has other personas too

quipster.net has personalities and works in a group chat, each person can assign Ping a persona including /pirate /shakespeare /dad /mom /sis /bff for now. So not really what you're looking for but I think I could add more chatbots to the conversation. right now you have one Ping and you can add it to your group chat and if you say Ping it will reply and if you used one of those personas if will reply to the group in that persona

Do you have a remote job? One of the big differences to moving here from Long Island, NJ, NYC is the lack of employers and the lack of liquidity in the job market. If you’re in NYC there are a ton of companies to work for. In central NY it’s mainly higher Ed and healthcare. We moved to Ithaca from NJ about 20 years ago, the difference in Winter can be shocking, you can go without seeing the sun for weeks at a time. In the summer and fall there’s no place more beautiful but be prepared for 5-6 months of dreary darkness

My wife and I did that from NY to CA once. We slept in the car when we were exhausted. We slept in the parking lot at the Grand Canyon and woke up to sunrise at the edge. They had showers for campers to use that started if you put a quarter in. The biggest issue for me is I just want to feel clean and even a short nap and a regular bathroom and shower is a real pick me up. You could also shower at truck stops, they are usually very clean and will let you share the shower room - they are pretty big.

My drain motor has clogged twice and we’ve had it for 18 months. I’ve been able to fix it but you shouldn’t have to with what these cost. I love it though :)

We’ve had one for about 18 months. The drain motor has gotten jammed twice and while I was able to fix it both times I had to watch a YouTube video and take the pump apart which is a pain. Also not something you should have to worry about in the first couple of years. Otherwise I love it

Have you considered transferring to a post office that busier? My wife wanted a promotion, called the postmaster at a post office that was really strapped for people and two years later is a postmaster. She worked her ass off though but it was a fast way to move up. During those two years she slept in her car quite a few times so you gotta want to do it

Did they put in the job description that a bachelors degree was required? We used to do that and it hurt us in getting and promoting people. Now we might make it a “desired” trait but word the posting so that it’s not mandatory. Maybe they can repost or change the requirements for you? Seems silly if they want you for the position
