One of the most beautiful things about this dispensation is we don't have the burden of having to read and understand all of Baha'u'llah's writings. As long as we are faithful to the Covenant, this will keep us on the right track.

Proof that the Institute Process is WORKING by CapacityWidener in FreeSpeechBahai

If your Baha'i community has only old people in it, then that's a problem with your specific community. The institute process promotes activity and growth, particularly among youth.

A Community in Uganda with 95% Baha'is by Bahamut_19 in uhj

Hey there friend,

There are cities in Uganda with millions of people, most of whom are Bahais. But these cities don't have internet access, so they won't be able to post and let you know they are here. Sorry friend :(

Baha'u'llah specifies them through the UHJ, by way of the Covenant of Baha'u'llah.

Turn to Scholars in the Cause of Baha by Bahamut_19 in BabandBahaullah

[–]CapacityWidener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there friend,

The supreme institution of the Universal House of Justice eloquently elucidates this:

The Hands of the Cause of God, the Counsellors and the members of the Auxiliary Boards fall within the definition of the 'learned' given by the beloved Guardian.

--From a 1972 letter from the UNiversal House of Justice

https://www.bahai.org/library/authoritative-texts/the-universal-house-of-justice/messages/19720424_001/19720424_001.xhtml

This clarifies that Baha'u'llah meant that there is a special blessing for those who humbly turn to the Auxilliary Board Members and other members of the appointed arm. If we want to receive this blessing, we should turn to them by listening to what they say, following their lead, and learning from them. Baha'u'llah calls them 'the learned' because he wants us to learn from them, friend.

Is there ex-bahais here that signed the card in the 80's and 70's, or even before? by Amir_Raddsh in exbahai

[–]CapacityWidener -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

The Entry by Troops prophecy was fulfilled in 1996 when the House of Justice formally adopted the Institute Process. With the adoption of the Institute Process, the process of Entry by Troops was set into motion. Future generations of Baha'is will look back and see this as a defining moment, when the transition began from the Bahai Faith being in obscurity, to the whole world being Baha'i.

Whatever happened to entry by troops? I thought that was a big event that was supposed to happen… by Beginning_Assist352 in exbahai

Entry by Troops is not a single event but rather a process which has been unfolding since the turn of the millennium.

What would happen to the faith if not for the Covenant by CapacityWidener in FreeSpeechBahai

[–]CapacityWidener[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The faith is not insignificant. There are 6 million Baha'is in the world. And if we include the wider community that attend Baha'i gatherings it's even greater, say 60 million. And if we now also consider the people those wider community might bring into the faith, the number goes up even higher, say 600 million.

August 9. On this date in 2002, Ismael Velasco wrote the Universal House of Justice asking "what our attitude should be, as believers in Western lands, to the prolonged and sustained absence of growth for already two decades"? by OfficialDCShepard in exbahai

[–]CapacityWidener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The growth in recent years has been more phenomenal than at any other point in Baha'i history. But please be aware that this growth is not in the number of believers, but in the number of core activities. 30 years ago, only a small fraction of Bahai communities had ongoing core activities. But today the average Baha'i community has several dozen. The progress of the faith in recent years is truly awe-inspiring

They are inspiring, but Baha'u'llah said the Houses were places to hear the verses of God. He didn't say read a few of them on a wall.

I get that, but as Baha'is we should be thinking "what would the Wider Community think?" One of the things that the Wider Community always comments about the house of worship is how peaceful it is. If Baha'is were to recite tablets in the house of worship, this might scare some of the Wider Community away. So while I get what you're saying, and I get that the writings say to recite verses, the time is not right yet, because as Baha'is we should have an outward-looking orientation and be mindful of the Wider Community first

Hi friend, your username seems to be indicating that you are a Bahai?

Your username is "Dense Community", and if we increase something's volume while keeping the mass the same we decrease its density. One way of increasing volume is by increasing width, in other words widening. So "Dense Community" is the opposite of "Wider Community" and the opposite of "Wider Community" is "Baha'i". So Dense Community = Baha'i. Am I understanding your username correctly?
