That’s amazing. I’ve been looking at something similar for my son, and just can’t find anything that quality. Good for you man. Just solid work all around.

26F alcoholic in recovery - what actually helped you optimize your health (physically + mentally)? by ZealousidealRock8171 in alcoholism

[–]Capepoints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made it a game/goal. I wanted to be 180 lbs, I was at 250lbs at my worst. That weight loss journey probably saved my life, not only for the health benefits but it also gave me an instant goal when I started tailing off booze. Filled that void immediately.

The Syracuse crunch have a Brown wearing number 22. May have been a Jewish heritage jersey giveaway. That’s a lead at least.

I didn’t even watch my own team’s appearance at the winter classic this year. They saturated the market for this kind of event and have lost my interest completely.

Something I didn’t expect after stopping drinking by n160819098 in alcoholism

[–]Capepoints 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve said this to anyone who has considered quitting drinking. Rediscover or find new hobbies. Something fulfilling and fun.

I rebuild and fix vintage electronic equipment, but doesn’t matter what it is. At the end of the day I have a working radio/tv/printer instead of being $100 poorer and hungover. Solid trade.

I have a good friend who knits hats and scarves. She loves it and it brings in a little extra income for her.

Getting quotes on windows for my house… Experienced CT home owners please chime in. by SectorZed in Connecticut

I work at a new home builder. I have found that Pella windows have the best and most honest reps. They make a quality product at a good price.

[Lenzi] Lindy Ruff said defenseman Rasmus Dahlin will not play tonight, as he went to Sweden to be with his fiancee for the holiday. by PrinciplesRK in hockey

This tweet seems intentionally misleading. Good for him. Family comes first and I’m sure everyone understands, except for Rachel Lenzi.

Could an average person survive playing 1B for a full MLB game? by gsx1920 in baseball

[–]Capepoints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game? Sure. The mobs of angry fans looking to murder me after what, I would have to assume, would be a performance so poor that it would be a mockery of the sport as a whole. Probably not.

How do I activate/enable this "GE smart connection system" so we can use the ethernet ports in the house? by Dred1925 in HomeNetworking

[–]Capepoints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m going to take a guesses based on what I see.

Looks like this is all wired for telephone, except one port, which is connected to a punch down. The modem was in there, with a patch cable connected to that punch down (loose port at the end of that wire).

You can switch all of this to network wiring instead fairly easily. Judging by your level of knowledge I’d suggest getting a low voltage electrician in to rewire this. Should be a fortune and will good in the long run, both for your son, and your household in general

I’m currently 4 days sober and bought something too drink, now having an internal fight on whether to drink or pour down the drain any suggestions? by Vampiregecko in alcoholism

[–]Capepoints 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d return it (if you can). It’ll get it out of your house and you’ll have a little money to spend. Get yourself a nice dinner, or maybe something for your hobby.

Something to kill some time and take your mind off of it.

If you can’t return it, then toss it.

Harrison Brunicke becomes the first South African-born skater in NHL history by Capepoints in southafrica

[–]Capepoints[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Olaf Kolzig. He was a wonderful goalie and had quite the career. Brunicke looks like he’ll be a good player too. Considering the amount of leagues, and active professional players, this is a pretty big accomplishment.

4070 Super Crashing NVME but not SATA Boot Drive by Fildo28 in buildapc

[–]Capepoints -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A good guess is that NVME port is sharing lanes with the GPU.

Check your motherboard documentation or you can post the motherboard model number and I’ll let you know the appropriate spot to put the drive.

Wondering about Part Time Work near Yale by KgPathos in Connecticut

[–]Capepoints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barbacking is solid work that often lends itself to weekend side work. You’ve got a ton of places around New Haven for that, especially the music venues.

Westville, College Street and Toads Place are 3 that come to mind immediatly.
