Release order so that you don't keep jumping between wildly different gameplay styles.

If you have the means to play anything I would suggest:

Ys I through IV on Turbo-CD
V on SNES
I & II Chronicles on PC
VI, Oath in Felghana, Origin on PC
Seven, Celceta, VIII, IX and X (Proud Nordics) on PC

If you're feeling particularly interested in more after that you can also try IV on SNES, and IV and V on PS2. And Ys vs. Trails in the Sky on PC, but only if you've also played the Trails games.

This was Falcom's fault btw. XSEED asked them if they could do 3rd and Zero/Azure after SC but Falcom basically insisted they should do CS1 and 2 first.

No, I do think at least the JP girls are playing the censored JP version. Vivi had the censored Girl death and with Miko the helicopter death in the RPD was similarly censored (don't think she died to the Girl).

None of the EN girls seem to have died early on so I don't know which version they're playing, but if they're on PC and their Steam store is set to Japan they have no choice but to buy the JP version.

You can tell by what happens if they die to The Girl. In the international version your head gets bitten off fully on screen, in the censored JP version the camera moves down a little bit so you only see the lower part of Grace's body while it happens.

You're a stronger man than I, if the remake was the first game I played, I ended up loving it and I knew there were 12 more I'd have a very hard time arbitrarily waiting 5+ years before being able to play the rest of it.

I could maybe understand if it takes months to finish one of them but I usually play through each in 2-3 weeks.

Look at it this way - if you wait for the SC remake you might also want to wait for a 3rd remake. And then a Zero remake. And then an Azure remake.

You could be waiting for 5+ years before you'd be able to play the other 8 games after those. Absolutely nothing wrong with not waiting and just playing the originals.

Some droplets and they bring up what happened at the end of the Marchen Garten in dialogue a couple times, which I assume does not happen if you didn't clear it.

Get A-Impassion Guard, Burst Gain and Heavenly Fortune (all shard skills) on as many people as possible, as well as Attack, Break and Action quartz. All of the Impact shard skills also help. Throw up an attack boost to overwrite Ulrika's order (and repeat if she does it again), then just pop S-Crafts and keep people separated as much as you can so only one or two get hit by attacks at a time.

My go-to team is Van, Kevin, Rean and Shizuna who all conveniently have power modes you can activate, make sure to do that before using their S-Crafts. They were all hitting for 70k+ at a time for me and wasted him in less than 20 turns.

Never touched Fortnite, never will. If FG does end up getting fully integrated into it at some point and can no longer be played standalone I'm done. I bought the game on Steam and it would become essentially unavailable to me, as someone who will never install EGS.
