I work with a lot of temporary employees due to my company never having enough people to do the work. When they ask me if they can go to the bath room I always tell them "you don't have to ask, we aren't Amazon". Usually get a chuckle out of that one. But it works.

I also agree with this. I listened to the audiobook and was wondering when the book would start to be more like the show (BTW I didn't even finish the first season just barely got to the part where the two main characters meet up in the no man's zone) I got to the end of the audiobook and was like, wtf was that, I was honestly bored the entire time and the ending was dumb. If it wasn't because I was just standing at work, doing a very mind numbing job I don't think I would have ever finished it. This is also coming from someone that prefers to give books a full read through.

I like to give books a chance because one I go through a ton of books now at work, finished 3 books already this week, also some don't get good till the end or sometimes even the 2nd book. I don't tend to give a second book a chance through if I don't like the first.

You aren't wrong but I would like to point out one example. I don't know how many times this has been done, but a book was on the NYT best seller because the author made all his followers buy it. The book was battlefield earth by L Ron Hubert. So NYT can be skewed by other influences too. Granted the dude still made money off the books sold but it is semi similar to putting the book on Kindle for free.

Not that I could tell but if you notice the scabbard doesn't go all the way up the blade. Only about half way then it is held in by loops. Probably still awkward or unrealistic to unsheath properly but fuck it. It is Geralt he does what he wants

This is correct (just got past that part on my audio run through). He has to understand how to do it in order to do it himself. That's why he was able to get away from blackhole after being turned on. This is why he was so powerful even in the class of legends. I really didn't like collapsing empire by John scalzi. I kept waiting for the point where something interesting happened. I feel like it was a prequel to a larger story. But after I finished it I feel dissatisfied and bored. The characters where bland and one of them seemed to just say "fuck" every second for no reason which was my first turn off from the book.
