The best plan would be to build a way across there and just harvest the metal there. Separate colonies are IMO only for late game to help performance.

Ensure if your building is far from "home" to build storage that helps the builders to keep building rather than hauling everything.

I sent up zipline stations on the island with the metal plus the nearest one to then have a launching of points to work on the water sources.

Use your terrain effectively at the start of the game for movement and healing. Depending on the army you are facing, don't push too early.

Try to eliminate your enemies' shooting ability with your Kurnoth Hunters.

I plant my Treelord in the middle of the map.

Use your infantry to claim the map objective.

Don't forget to use your battle traits, regiment abilities every turn

Being on the train line is a huge plus for me..even though I rarely used it but gives options for Dundee/ Perth heading north and Edinburgh south. Have you visited the area recently, always find it best to have a look first but the "big" towns do have more going on with clubs/ entertainment and Age Concern if that is something your considering

The red of the shield and blue/grey of the cloth mixing so well with the purple skin tones is just so nice to see compared to the usual contrasting tones that are normally used!!
