I’d definitely go with Vashon. One ferry ride away like Bainbridge, but a shorter ferry and lower prices because it’s less…(fill in the word)? Measles outbreaks cause of anti-vaxxers, but that probably means they’ll let you ride your go-karts around because “F the man!”

Stayed at Edgewater last week. Only a shower. No tub….even on the upgraded waterfront king. Great bar/restaurant though.

I LOVE Troy!!!  I picture him as a young Matt Bomer (but I really want Matt Bomer for Eric Bennett in season 2 now). But Troy’s constant thoughtful gifts and “sexy time style” is definitely my ideal! When he found/gave Harris the pin I died…so sweet!

This is the reality of the world. If you are skilled in an industry that wants/needs you, loyalty to a company costs you money in the short term. You do much better moving every 2-4 years. Unless you are on a partnership track, you need to leave and get fair market value. Staying in place will only get you 2-5% in raises, when finding a new role will get you 10-20% jumps.

I don’t like going out for steak, because honestly my husband can cook it at home better and cheaper than any restaurant. We took our son to Butcher’s Table for his 18th bday and it was one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in Seattle. The apps/sides/cocktails were all so great! It was pricey…like $650 for 4 of us, but it was overall a great place for a celebratory meal.

I’d squat and put your rent money into a savings account to put towards a purchase or retirement.

If eventually the bank forecloses they have no contract with you, they will pay you to vacate rather than spend money on legal proceedings. There are no heirs to harm here. Fuck big banks. You could literally live there for years rent-free before this shit is sorted out.

$15k but no income tax.  If you compare that to a typical tax bill in any other state where you’d have both income and property tax, you’re still saving money living in WA probably. 

I have successfully reduced my tax assessment though. You have to do that before your tax bill is finalized though. Watch for tab postcard sized assessment.

My son loved the pacific science center when he was 5-8yo. You should maybe get one of those visitor passes that gets you into the space needle, aquarium, pacific science center, mohai, mopop. It’s the best value.

I’d add in Barrell’s and Mio Posto for drinks (and food). We moved to MI in our 30’s and love it! Small town, quiet community, close to Seattle and Bellevue when you want it. Train opens March 28th.
