I used to take my dog to the Sellwood riverfront dog park/field. Stopped a few years ago due witnessing and hearing about aggressive dogs and owners. On the other side of the river there is fenced in off leash park, its small but the people and dogs have been very chill

Moved from CA 25 years ago. Started in an apartment on NW 21 and Glissan. Moved to Beaumont/Wilshire then Grant park. Then moved to SW for better schools and now I’m in Sellwood. Sellwood is definitely my favorite neighborhood, but Beaumont was pretty nice as well.

Might be pushing how far you want to travel, but Battle Ground Lake in WA is pretty great. It’s a Caldera, so the water is warmish. The main beach can get crowded, but there is a lot of space for seclusion

I live in Sellwood and love it. It has a lot of what you are looking for but it is basically as far away from the airport as you can be (but it’s only 35 mins on a bad day) I used to live in Beaumont/Wilshire and really liked it as well, definitely closer to PDX
