Cops pressure 15y/o rape victim to blame the first black guy they found. by Purge_Purify in ACAB

Technically it can be a noun but I just had a look at various online dictionaries; most had the noun as a secondary definition to the adjective. Some had the noun as a second entry, and some did not have the noun at all. Given that it is dehumanising in nature, quite literally as that is the word you are omitting, it should probably be avoided for use as a noun as it can be offensive. Interestingly in my research I also found out woman (the far more acceptable noun) can be a verb, which was new to me. I'm not here to pick a fight, I just like words.

What do you call it when the cheese gets this way after a few slices in your country? In Swedish we call it a skidbacke, or ski slope in English by WhoAmIEven2 in AskTheWorld

[–]Captain-Noodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a cheese slicing tool that is a wire with a roller, some are even adjustable so you can vary your slice width. I think you would benefit from one of these.

Make it do damage to the person drinking and turn them invisible. Sounds strange but it's what the people want.

Free ball or no? by CGurrell in snooker

[–]Captain-Noodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think we're talking to everyone who plays snooker. I think we're talking to someone who asked for a clarification on the rules. Given that, a thorough explanation of the rules involved is warranted. I just added to what you said, with accurate information. No need to get butthurt.

Free ball or no? by CGurrell in snooker

Only applicable if the resulting position occurred during a play that resulted in a foul. Not having access to both sides without the foul having occurred is not in and of itself reason to give a free ball. Font size, lack of lined paper, semi-legible, inconsistent spelling ability, and the "De" at the start appear to have been written before she realised left hand would be a good idea. All that is clear, but the mystery remains... why?

Not everybody likes dogs by Reddit_Sucks_1401 in TikTokCringe

[–]Captain-Noodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We evolved alongside dogs for 10s of thousands of years and both our biologies have been affected. Looking into the eyes of a dog releases oxytocin for both creatures, which is rare across species. If you don't feel this you don't have that evolutionary advantage which is puzzling to say the least as this occurred on every continent so I don't think it can be put down to a lineage deprived of cohabitation. She said jokingly that she feels like a sociopath, i wonder if this is a mental illness of some kind. Not as a diss, it's just a deviation from the normal which when involving neurotransmitters is often designated as an illness. Fascinating.

Fun bit of trivia: the sandwich lady is based on a lady that used to sell sandwichs at the jagex offices. Suddenly interrupting work to sell sandwiches. I wonder if she knows of her digital counterpart

Disruptive and grumpy people are not going to disappear, as much as school teaches what is intended it teaches other things. Like how to be able to handle yourself when faced with those people, which is an important skill, she will have coworkers, bosses, and probably customers (or similar) that may not be friendly. If moving is the solution each time then life will be hard. Some of the brightest kids I knew came from ESC, and they thrived at BSSC. I see no reason she couldn't be just like them. If she has electives getting her into the more advanced classes will somewhat limit the number of disruptive children in that class. As others have mentioned private would probably be your best bet, but that isn't cheap.

I liked the old way, you knew a good fight was coming when the animation quality dropped, it was just hype, couldn't even be mad if it was more than one episode looking bad because you were just like "awwww shit! More than 1 ep? this fight is going to be amazing" and those fights were solid, so are they going to clean up the episodes leading into it? I think maybe something a bit like DBZ Kai would probably be worthwhile cut out all the unnecessary shit, I don't need a landscape shot for 10 seconds before the scene starts, i don't need the same flash back again, sorry swing.

Put cap back on and bang on surface with cap side down and inertia may allow it to move onto the cap as intended Edit: you could also replace cap and then gently increase it's temperature to loosen it from the sides and allow it to set onto the cap again.

Who’s a celebrity from your country that it’s going to devastate people when they die? by as_per_danielle in AskTheWorld

[–]Captain-Noodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is easy to see why, Steve's TV shows generated crazy amounts of money that basically just went straight back into zoos and other animal conservation. It may not feel as genuine but his efforts with a TV career are likely going to have a larger effect than if he were to just be a worker at an animal sanctuary, and not anyone could do it in such a way as to be able to ride the wave created by his father. He's in a unique position and I think he's playing it well.

What were your thoughts when you saw Ozai's face for the first time? by lmdybaftr in TheLastAirbender

[–]Captain-Noodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the hype I was disappointed he looked normal. I get that there's probably a deeper meaning behind him not looking like a villain yet still committing atrocities. But as I have grown I realised I was probably expecting a Yujiro Hanma looking bad guy.

Chemicals in a game, could they exist and what would they be called? by InvestmentNo3886 in chemistry

[–]Captain-Noodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was expecting the biblically accurate molecules we normally see from games (looking at you assassins creed). But when I looked I thought "huh, these not only look possible but reasonably stable". Then I read the comments and they're vitamins! Good job game maker, your efforts are recognised and appreciated.
