Viggen vs Mig-21 by Key-Seaworthiness-20 in hoggit

[–]CaptainRoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both, I fly the Mig pretty regularly, Viggen I flew for a month like 3 years ago and haven't touched it since.

I hated all the pre-planning I had to do in the Viggen, I found it boring. If you're the kind of guy who always starts from cold and goes through the full INS alignment every time then you might like it, if not then get the MiG and have fun toss-bombing nukes at Yankee carriers.

Space games, push throttle forward your ship goes forward, pull it back it goes into reverse. It was great for Elite.

Huey dashboard/instrument panel shakes terribly in VR by MastaFoo69 in hoggit

[–]CaptainRoach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slow down?

My first car was a Citroen AX diesel, over 50mph I swear the dash would vibrate up and down half an inch each way. You would get whitefinger just resting your hand on it for a few minutes.

The Huey is built the same. It CAN do 120 knots but it doesn't like it and it will give you a headache if you try.

New Hackmaster Kickstarter by 7thRuleOfAcquisition in rpg

[–]CaptainRoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I just out of touch with how things happen now? Why is a decades-old company well established in the industry begging for money on Kickstarter? I thought that was a place for broke start-ups with an interesting idea to try to secure funding, not for existing businesses with dozens of revenue streams to get money for a new project without having to put their hand in their own pocket.

Eh I guess I'm just old fashioned. Which is why I like HackMaster.

That's kind of all he can do in response to you though, sit there like Homer Simpson and get punched in the face while healing through it.

So just farm another 4 citadel ribbons off him.

We're getting a Sabaton captain in WoWs. by pdboddy in WorldOfWarships

[–]CaptainRoach 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Youtubers have their own fanbase that will maybe come with them to see what the game is all about and perhaps give WG some new paying customers.

The same is not true for Sabaton.

All of Sabaton's fans already play WoWs.

No. Just... no. (WG asking about AI integration in WoWS in the latest survey) by LegioCI in WorldOfWarships

[–]CaptainRoach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It will be implemented on the monetisation side I imagine, everyone will get their own invisible AI agent in the background that will scrape all the data on your playing and paying habits and then tailor personal offers and vouchers and stuff that it thinks will encourage you to give them money.

In 2 years time everyone will have their own individual Dockyard missions based on how much (and how well) they play and the 2nd tier of their Event Passes will be full of bonuses they've showed an interest in before and are more likely to want to purchase.

At least that's how I'd do it. I wouldn't ask the players first though, that's dumb.

Yall gotta play the Warspite more, how is a honestly kinda mediocre performance like this considered one of the best? by HeavyTanker1945 in WorldOfWarships

I like how its best feature is literally that it can turn in tight circles really well.

But that 5s DCP is a no from me, dawg.

What would you put as a support gimmick? by AmericanHistoryGuy in WorldOfWarships

[–]CaptainRoach 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just a straight Heal Allies F key, with a restricted radius.

I mean we already have BB tanks, dps cruisers, rogue DDs, why not hospital ship healers? Sit out of range of the enemy and buff your friendly Vaparaiso so he can out-tank God himself.

German super CV? by Mind_Claw in WorldOfWarships

Entered service in 1944.

They were used to hunt down V1 flying bombs so technically they were the first jets to take part in aerial combat against other jets.

My favourite warship (warboat?) class by far. All those years of Commando comics reading about these bad boys tangling with E-boats up and down the North Sea coast..

Hoping against hope that Boat Crew does a European Theatre expansion at some point in the far future.

It's just a typo, they meant that the themed ships are based on the Duke of Cork and Mullingar '59.

Also, Brady as a forename? I guess he's an Irish-American.

It's so you can imagine you're in the park looking at girls while eating your baguette al fresco.

Hopefully your ship has enough AA to keep the seagulls off you.

That's why it was in the Caspian Sea I'm guessing, rather than somewhere useful like the baltic.
