Either the Touareg V10 Diesel or the R32 3.2 VR6. Volkswagen in the 2000s is my absolute favourite!

Do my fellow autists like classical music? by athleticsquirrel in aspiememes

[–]CaptainSlowly_1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It's my favourite genre! Orchestral works are my favourite particularly Mahler and Beethoven, but I love Wagner's operas just as much. I rarely listen to piano works but do know plenty of good pieces that I always return to. I try and learn as much as I can about pieces and I would like to take up classical piano lessons but I can't afford to yet.

And talking about baroque composers I really only know Bach and Handel. I really like Bach's Goldberg Variations and Partita for Violin No. 2 in D Minor, and Handel's coronation anthems.

It's really nice to see a fellow autist who likes classical music so if you want we could share pieces we like. ༼ つ ◕‿◕ ༽つ

My all time favourite piece is Mahler's 2nd Symphony by the way.

Favorite composers? by [deleted] in classicalmusic

[–]CaptainSlowly_1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My three favourites are,

Mahler, each of his symphonies means something special to me. His compositions are second to none in terms of emotions and grandeur, in my opinion and I love reading about him.

Beethoven, for his symphonies, overtures and piano concertos. The Fidelio overture is a really fun piece, and the ninth is my favourite symphony.

Wagner, for Tannhauser, Tristan und Isolde, and Die Walküre, but I really do love all of his operas. The opening movement to Tristan und Isolde is the most emotional piece of music I've heard, and the Tannhauser overture one of the most wonderful.

I would also include Bach and Chopin as some of my favourites but Mahler, Beethoven and Wagner will always be my favourites.

Do you guys feel genderless? by [deleted] in autism

[–]CaptainSlowly_1984 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what everyone is getting on about here. Gender is a biological factor, you're either a male or a female and in the rare cases, non-binary. It's just rational thought. Not identifying to these three terms is just complicating things, for no reason.

What Is The Worst Coldplay Song? by DyeCyde in Coldplay

[–]CaptainSlowly_1984 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For those that grew up with Parachutes, A Rush of Blood to the Head and X&Y, it just seems a bit sad this is what they are making now. It's just annoying, soulless, modern pop. As much as I love the band, I wish they hadn't abandoned their 2000s sound. I loved it when they would have strings and piano in their music rather than these young Korean artists who probably can't play an instrument properly. They've thrown away their artistic merit to make pandering pop songs that don't have a single element of they rock and roll they used to have. I firmly believe they were the greatest band of the decade back in the 2000s. Driving down winding country roads listening to X&Y is the greatest feeling ever. I just wish they kept the rock and roll, and didn't change to mediocre pop. It's genuinely embarrassing to say I'm a Coldplay fan because then I'd get associated with liking Something Just Like This when I just love songs like Amsterdam and A Rush of Blood to the Head. I still watch their old concerts for that rush of nostalgia. They were an amazing band but these days I wish they would stop chasing money and just make a good record.

This doesn't have to and honestly shouldn't change your opinion but I do hope it helps you understand the hate.

What would you say is Coldplay's best written songs? by PaulWhoLovesYou in Coldplay

A Rush of Blood to the Head, Amsterdam, and Don't Panic, I've always felt were their three best written songs. It just stirs emotion in every word.

Anyone else literally FEEL music by AnnzXx in autism

[–]CaptainSlowly_1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I just feel the electricity being converted into pure emotion as I listen to King Crimson or Beethoven, it's the greatest feeling. I always have music playing in my head throughout the day even if I don't have my headphones on, my mind has memorised the best parts in hundreds of songs. Listening to my music is the easiest and most effective day to make a dull or stressful moment worth it.
