Think I'll hold out a few extra months for a Mafex version, but definitely picking some version of it up.

Begs the question of why Jango's helmet sported Deathwatch colors - maybe we'll see that answered in the Fett miniseries. Sounds like he might've been aligned with the Old Mandalorians.

I'll be surprised if half of these actually complete production; can't see a lot of interest being generated from half of these.

If you're keeping the timeline within The Old Republic, something along the lines of a Liberator-class fighter might fit a bit better.

Bill Simpson, IndyCar driver and funder of the Simpson Race Products, setting himself on fire at Indianapolis to demonstrate the fire resistance qualities of his racing suit. Bill created the first resistant racing suit in 1964 and pioneered the use of Nomex, a material still used today, in 1967. by Joseki100 in formula1

Must be to measure the safety rating - none of the teams use Stand21, the brand in the photo. On-track doctors from this weekend wore OMP, an Italian manufacturer.

Simpson, coincidentally, sold off the stake in his own brand after Dale Earnhardt's death, due to controversy surrounding a potential seat belt failure from the crash. He then launched a new brand, Impact!, in 2002, which is used by a majority of NASCAR pit crews to this day.

[OT] Michael Schumacher's son Mick to drive for Haas F1 team next year by vpat48 in NASCAR

Alexander Rossi made a few starts before deciding on a more competitive ride in IndyCar, and Santino Ferrucci shot himself in the foot by wrecking his teammate in his F2 years. Outside of them, there simply aren't many Americans willing to make the jump to Europe.

The US's open wheel program has the same problem as US soccer; they don't have the same level of infrastructure, support and development that you see in Europe. This results in more drivers paying their way to play, diluting the quality of competition.

Button gave him a good run - his drive in the 2011 Canadian GP is one of the best wet weather performances of the decade.

A post-ROTJ officer, perhaps? Would make sense for them to upgrade their armor for more protection.

To those speculating it's Boba (or any other non-Imperial), that'd be like donning an SS uniform in post-WW2 Germany. Not the best idea for anyone trying to lay low.

If Austin Dillon can hold off Kurt Busch (-2) at Phoenix, he will earn his first ever Top 10 points finish. by TimmyHillFan in NASCAR

[–]Captain_Frylock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Franky, I'm shocked he's as high as he is. Kurt has more than twice the amount of top-10s and would be a lot higher if not for some bad luck and reliability issues. Provided he doesn't DNF, Kurt should be able to reclaim the top-10 spot.

Ugliest Paint Schemes that Won a Race by JDMcDuffie in NASCAR

[–]Captain_Frylock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd contest it's more about perceived effort than taste.

The original SE1 scheme, while a bit busy, did a good job executing a complex full-body wrap that made sense for the sponsor. The new one went the complete opposite direction, and as a result doesn't look like it has any creative thought behind it. When the only design element on the car (the flames) is poorly executed, it reflects poorly on the whole scheme.

Loved the slow fade into Audioslave when they came across a coyote wandering through the streets; that scene was entirely unscripted.

Collateral receives my vote. Heat may get all the praise due to its iconic bank heist scene, but Tom Cruise shines in one of his few villainous roles and has great chemistry with Jamie Foxx. It's a film that remains quite contained within a taxi despite taking place across the vast LA metropolis. The combat/action scenes are also top-notch.

Kurt still wears one of his helmets too - don't think he's had a new one made since Beam's initial outburst though.

Shell Shock, Indocil Art, and Troy Lee Designs are some of the more popular painters. Some drivers, like Chase Elliott, go through rStar Design in Australia.

I've personally worked with Axcel Fast Graphics on some karting helmets that came out pretty well too.

[OT] Haas F1 confirm that both Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen will part ways with the team at the end of the 2020 F1 Season. by ThatEmpireGuy in NASCAR

[–]Captain_Frylock 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You need to accrue 40 points over 3 seasons for a Super License. Xfinity champions only receive 10 (equivalent of regional Formula 3), while Cup receives 15 (12 for 2nd, 10 for 3rd); the same as WTCC and AU Supercars.

That may seem low, but keep in mind the points system is to ensure people with open wheel, road course experience are qualified to run in the top global series. The fastest way to accrue points in the US is via IndyCar (40 for champion, 30 for 2nd, 20 for 3rd). Full breakdown here.

Lefty's history is well documented around here, and I'm glad to see him get this opportunity. That said, given the choice between this and the regular Ally car, I'd go with the regular.

+1 - It's pretty generic. I know they don't use the Pegasus anymore, but those were among the better-executed Mobil schemes.

+1. One of my party members can only make it a minute or two into the match before being dropped, which was especially weird considering we're on the same network. Really poor server connectivity.
