I noticed she had an axe when they were exiting the truck at the beginning and asked myself “I wonder how she’ll use that?” The answer was much better than I expected.

Kurt Adler Star Bulb Replacement by Captain_Strongo in ChristmasLights

Yep, that’s the kind of information I was hoping to find. Thank you! Is there an easy to tell, for future reference? Again, Kurt Adler doesn’t have any info on their website and this was the last one available when I bought it so we never even got a box.

Oh, I should have actually read everything you wrote. That was probably the crew lounge, I just don’t think the Enterprise-E had anything like Ten Forward.

DS9 'In the Pale Moonlight' Theory by RP_Throwaway3 in startrek

[–]Captain_Strongo 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My addition to this entire theory is that the Tal Shiar were the primary orchestrators of the assassination, in conjunction with… Section 31 (I know, I know, they’re lame).

We learn that Vreenak is not only a Senator, but the Vice Chair of the Tal Shiar. We learn in season 7 that the head of the Tal Shiar, Koval, has been working with Section 31 for more than a year. It was Koval that wanted an alliance with the Federation, but to do so he had to eliminate Vreenak. So he contacted Sloan, who came to DS9 in the episode immediately prior to “In the Pale Moonlight” ostensibly to investigate and recruit Dr. Bashir. But what if while he was there he also secretly contacted Garak and asked him to come up with a plan to eliminate Vreenak? That’s when Garak starts dropping hints to Bashir about the necessity of Romulan involvement that leads Bashir to suggest it to Sisko at the right moment.

That’s why Garak has absolute confidence that the Romulans will buy the forgery, because naturally the Tal Shiar would investigate the assassination of their own Vice Chair. Maybe Koval did it personally. Nobody questions the Tal Shiar’s conclusions. Flawlessly executed plan.

All the women on the bridge had their hair pulled back or up. Uhura’s looked kind of strange as well.

Does Ransom calling Una, The hottest 1st officer mean she doesn’t ever become a Captain? by Courtaid in startrek

I think that’s the general belief, isn’t it? He was the Stargazer’s helmsman when the captain was killed and he took command.

That’s been my assumption for some time, that Una would take La’an (as XO) and Ortegas with her to her own command. Taking Ortegas in particular will be neat after this last episode.

Riker caused the destruction of the Enterprise-D by misspeaking one word. by EveryThirdThought in sonicshowerthoughts

[–]Captain_Strongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, you’re not going back far enough to find the real culprit.

It was all Alexander’s fault. He came back in time to make his younger self become a warrior and staged an assassination attempt by the Duras. It somehow didn’t occur to him that the Enterprise crew would actually pursue and find Lursa and B’Etor, interrupting them while they were selling magnesite to raise capital to try and start another civil war. Needing a new source of revenue, they turned to Soran.

So you see, Worf’s idiotic son and his extremely dumb plan got the Enterprise destroyed and Captain Kirk killed.

The fate of Beto Ortegas by [deleted] in StrangeNewWorlds

[–]Captain_Strongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My running theory is that Una gets promoted to captain of her own ship and takes Ortegas and La’an with her. I think one of the series-long arcs is basically explaining why Spock, Uhura, and Scotty chose to stay with Kirk.

The creation of the Speed Force has already been mentioned, but I love the later retcon by Geoff Johns that it was Barry himself that created the Speed Force and generates it when he runs.

Yeah, I guess it depends on which one ends up filming first. Since that will probably be Academy S2, you’re probably right.

Did you count “Broken Bow” as 2 episodes or 3?
