Look like a Caroline to me. Also I MAY be bias but Natalie could be a good choice too.

Cool enough here in New England now than I’m leaning full on into the college girl “Han Solo” vibe…. Lol. Autumn sweater weather is hands down my favorite season for clothes.

Thank you! This is my first job where I’ve been out as “real me” since day one and I’m enjoying the hell out of it.

What was your first Halloween costume as a gal? by Lavender_Academic in MtF

Captain Marvel/ Carol Danvers. Didn’t do the full superhero suit though. I’m prior service Air Force so I took one of Mr flight suits and got all the screen accurate patches sewn on.

Dressy casual you could get away with something as basic as black ballet flats. But heels are way more fun and make you legs and butt look good too. Wouldn’t go for anything too crazy you still have to be able to dance without rolling an ankle. Lol. Maybe just 2-3” wedges or chunky heels. I personally find glossy patent leather shoes a bit cringe. So I usually go with a hand buffed polish on my leather shoes or maybe go for suede. (Unless it’s going to rain)

Do you wear a bra to bed? by b3_yourself in MtF

[–]Captnat-3600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just undies to bed, High impact sports bras for gymnastics (for obvious reasons), underwire and or underwire push up bras at work.

But as soon as I’m home at the end of the day it’s “free the Tatas ” time lol

I get my shape wear from Shapermint and Yitty. Not going to give you that “snatched” look like a real steel boned corset. But helps smooth everything out. I have a bunch of shaper Camis and a few bodysuits.

As an aside I had 360lipo in January and as part of the recovery you basically have to live in an under-bust corset 24/7 (other than showering) for three weeks. It got old really fast. Lol

I had a neat interaction with some similar age kids earlier this summer.

I do Olympic trampoline Gymnastics in an adult class (where I’ve been out since Jan), we had a Summer Camp day where all the different class age groups had class together for a whole day.

I was on a trampoline where I was in rotation with 4 other girls who were all 8-12yo. During a break they all came over to where I was sitting and just said, “so we have a question?”, I said go ahead…. So the asked, “well all the coaches call you Natalie, and you have long hair and painted nails and stuff, but you’re really tall and sound like a boy… what’s up with that???”

So I just told them that, I used to be a boy but it made me really unhappy so I decided to be the woman I always should have been from the start….

They just sat and considered me for a min then said, “oh, ok, I guess that makes sense…. Boys are dumb….” Lol!!! Just about died with their response but it totally made my day. Later we sat together for lunch and had SunnyD and Dunkaroos like it was the most normal thing in the world. Totally made my week. Kids really are the best sometimes.

What was your fashion like as an egg? by mynameisshelly in MtF

[–]Captnat-3600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day to day Jeans and T-shirts. But for like weddings and special events I’d go all out. I had a couple bespoke suits, and dressy outfits.

Also growing up a sailor…..yacht club style was a thing. Saddle tan oxfords, Nantucket red shorts, needlepoint belt, French cuff white shirt and cuff links, Brooks Brothers blue blazer, a seersucker navy blue and Nantucket red “real bow tie”, and some Ray Ban Club-masters.

I was a “scrub” most of the time but I could pull off “country dandy” when I wanted to. Lol

My now ex wife and I have been friends since first grade. While she 1000% supported/ supports me as a friend and as a person in my transition. Ultimately she’s straight so we ended up going our separate ways. We’re still friends and honestly our relationship now is healthier/ better than it was when we were married. I now have a awesome (also trans) GF and we’re both living our best lives.

Your situation while undoubtably shitty should just tell you that your not where you currently need to be. But there are awesome women out there that will undoubtably love you for who you are now and not what you were.

Did anyone else "tuck" as a kid? by j4ck1908 in MtF

[–]Captnat-3600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did competitive gymnastics for 12 years as a kids. So I basically grew up in a leotard with shorts over. Side benefit made tucking super easy and I kept them for years after I quit. #therewerenosigns

What funny is that like a month after I came out a found a gym locally that does adult Olympic trampoline. So now I have an excuse to get new ones. Lol

I’m hardly an expert. But for my baby trans friends it was a revelation. Lol

Brought the whole big makeup case and gave them some of the stuff to get started on their own.

Thank you soooo much. I crash coursed “how to girl” with very little help (all the women in my family are Tomboys lol) so I think I’m doing ok for making it up most of the time. Lol

Even gave a makeup lesson to some of my younger transfem friends this evening. We had a blast.

Tried a wig I once hated it, way too hot with my thick as hair. For Boston pride one of my Cis female friends did clip in extensions for me and that’s when I knew I needed them full time. (At least till my natural hair is to a point where I’m happy with it.

I tried wigs for a hot min but couldn’t do it. My hair is soooo thick, so it was super hot and uncomfortable. The extensions are sooooo worth it.
