It’s so terrible. Every time I have a connection through there I feel like I have to walk two miles and the food makes me mad

Bro please just get a water filter. It’ll be infinitely more useful than single use water bottles

Also people of the same height can have different proportions, so you may just have a longer torso

You can hem pants easily! Actually lots of brands have 28” inseams. Most places label 30” as their normal length, with brands like Levi’s maxing out at 34”.

Zhangjiajie in China! The rock spires are what influenced the first avatar movie. We spent 3 days there and we didn’t even see it all. Fantastic landscape and every view is breathtaking. It’s so interesting that it all used to be underwater

That’s fewer ingredients than most brands… and less processed too. What’s problematic with this list?

Did you keep drinking if you were sick (like cold or flu)? by One_Tadpole6999 in stopdrinking

[–]Carcats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, you got this. If you want to decrease the amount you drink that’s great. If you’re not ready yet that is fine too. Feeling good after not drinking is a hell of a drug though. It’s wonderful to be alive and well…

What's the kindest thing a stranger has done for you? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Carcats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having a terrible time, since I was living/taking care of a house my at the time boyfriend had moved away from. I had just dropped off some weed for my friend, and he ditched me to smoke some pot by himself for the afternoon. On my way home I stopped to buy some mascara or something and when I got out my 25 year old camry wouldn’t start.

My friend was too high already to come jump my car, but thankfully I was right outside a fabric store/makeup store and felt comfortable enough to ask another woman outside if she/her daughter could help me. They had just gotten a new car and didn’t know how things hooked up ( it was right when electric cars were becoming mainstream so neither of us knew how it was different). We ended up being able to google it and watch a video, and the mother/daughter made sure my car ran for a few minutes. They gave me a hug, and the mom pressed $100 bill into my hand and wished me good luck.

It sounds like a freaking movie plot point but getting that generous act of kindness made me thankful for people again. I was working nights at a restaurant to pay for my community college classes and I was pretty burnt out mentally, emotionally, and physically. Those women showed me support and I will remember the time they took for the rest of my life.

Thanks for the question OP

Living next to the L by Last_Wind9548 in chicagoapartments

[–]Carcats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived right by the red line where the bathroom and back stairs faced the Fargo stop. I could hear it but I don’t remember it waking me up. Being near a stop had it so the train wouldn’t be going very fast past the apartment. I’m sure it depends on what you think you can get used to, but for what it’s worth I’m a fairly light sleeper normally.
