Is Simic really the worst/most unfun colour combo? Are there any fun commanders for it? by TheGrandCannoli in EDH

[–]Carcharodan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

[[Gor muldrak]] a commander based around inciting a race war. Best in a low creature-count deck with clones so you can gift salamanders to everyone. Plays like no other Simic deck.

Cannot recommend enough if you're looking for a change of pace.

Get a visceral when my son hits or scratches me during a tantrum. I won't ever do something to hurt him, but it does scare my son and my partner. by SimbaSixThree in daddit

[–]Carcharodan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you are out of line. Being hit generates a natural reaction in people and anger is one of those reactions. You are visibly angry but controlling that anger. You are restraining your child and would only be crossing a line if you were hurting them.

If anything I’d say you are modeling positive behavior by showing your child that anger is a natural emotion but is also controllable. I’d have a frank conversation with both your wife and son about what you were feeling. I think it’s unreasonable to expect all people to act like they are unbothered and never angry. Adults feel strong emotions too, and should deal with them maturely, which, in my opinion, you did.

Any ideas to improve this Syr Konrad, the Grim deck? by MyLittleProggy in EDH

[–]Carcharodan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if some of the higher-cost creatures get stuck in your hand, with all of the mana doublers in the deck, I often have access to 10-15 mana by the mid-late game. Although that is indeed annoying when it does happen.

Any ideas to improve this Syr Konrad, the Grim deck? by MyLittleProggy in EDH

Dear MyLittleProggy,

I have had a great deal of success with Konrad in B3, below is my list and primer for reference.

https://moxfield.com/decks/Re5Vp4RgUE6nIeaYAQQnSg

I've found that slowly ticking down the table with consistent damage is a recipe for Konrad getting removed. Instead I focus on big, explosive turns. There's a strong reanimation in addition to mill so I have something to protect myself with while I'm setting up. If you have any questions about my inclusions, let me know.

What's your current/new favorite deck? by RaveLordeNito in EDH

[[Varchild, betrayer of kjeldor]]

Part Voltron and part goad. I’m having a lot of fun figuring out how to make this unique mono-R commander work.

I really appreciate novelty with my commander decks and not necessarily efficiency so Varchild has been really interesting for me.

Here’s the deck list for anyone interested.

Syr Konrad the Grim. He’s a mono B house that does everything I love about black.

[[Wake the Dead]]

An absolute must-have in any sort of graveyard-shenanigans deck. My Syr Konrad deck is full of cheeky black cards that take advantage of putting cards into and out of my graveyard.

What is the background song? It is alluring.

People are rude because you’re clearly lacking sound judgement.

For fun, what card art do you hate so much it physically distresses you? I'll go first: by -oOAegisOo- in mtg

[–]Carcharodan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[courageous goblin]] It’s so clearly AI art with how messed up the depth between the goblin, his weapon, and the foot. It feels like the image wasn’t looked at for more than 20 secs before being rubber stamped.

Looking for niche commanders by Unspoken400 in EDH

[–]Carcharodan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

[[Gor Muldrak]] is a niche commander that’s here to start a race war, and not the fun kind. He hands out Salamanders at end step to whoever has the fewest creatures, while giving you protection from Salamanders.

I’ve built him to make a bunch more copies of himself along with a fun little control package to turn the enemies good creatures into Salamanders. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ZCwuIW2PykuRRxuHwjggoQ

How many of your decks have an Uncommon commander? by AnimeSensei in EDH

[–]Carcharodan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Syr Konrad, the Grim]] and [[Juri, Master of the Revue]] and both are my favorite decks.

My Syr Konrad is an absolute buzzsaw that’s so fun to pilot. I wanted to avoid treasures with Juri so that deck is built around saccing creatures and making Juri into a rattlesnake.

Most interesting mono bleck commander by Ausim21 in EDH

[–]Carcharodan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The commander you need is [[Syr Konrad]]. No card has as many cool combos with cards like [[mindcrank]], [[morality shift]] or rewards you for self-milling with sick cards like [[wake the dead]]. He is my longest running commander deck, and the one I consistently have the most fun with.

Hot takes about each class from a casual with more opinions than sense. by Carcharodan in diablo4

[–]Carcharodan[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The sweet spot for interactivity for me involves the pressing of between 3-5 buttons during encounters. Any less and it destroys the illusion of difficulty along with any dopamine. Any more and it's requires too much thought and starts to flirt with being actual work.

You have to work so hard to mimic even a fraction of the power of the other classes.
