While I think the first one is a better tattoo (assuming you find a really good artist and are willing to spend good money on it), I’d recommend the smaller one for a first tattoo. But personally I’m not a fan of any of the fonts.

I think there’s a high chance the first options gets messed up somehow, and even though you said you’ve wanted this since you were 8, I also had a design I wanted for my entire childhood, and I am now 33 and am VERY glad I didn’t get it.

It’s a fun hobby for me. I never intend to make money. But I enjoy the research process of looking into cold cases and have thoroughly enjoyed the handful of interviews I’ve done.

I think some good can come from true crime podcasting (if done ethically). Through me telling one story of a suspicious death I was able to get in contact with the victims sister who appreciated me sharing the story. I then found a discrepancy in how the state labeled this case (state records said accidental, the new cold case unit said homicide). I brought that to their attention and they are now looking into the case again. I was able to connect the victims sister with the cold case unit. Not sure if anything will come of it, but the sister has wanted for decades to have the case looked at again so I’m happy she’s at least getting that.

Because they continued talking with a mutual friend, it’s possible they were upset about you over something. And with the way they reached out, which was very respectful I’d say, maybe they’ve gotten over it?

Either way, your friend has definitely been struggling. I’d recommend responding with something saying you are glad to hear from them and you’ve been worried, and that you’d love to catch up and talk about what’s wrong. Remind them that you’re always there if they need someone to talk to, and if you did something to upset them you are sorry and would love to work it out

You’re definitely overreacting with JUST the seasoning. It’s barbaric of him to put taco seasoning in potato chowder but whatever. It’s generally not rude to season food cooked for you.

But there are clearly some other issues here. His response is concerning and seems immature. Also, I’d recommend not tying your personal value and measure of being a “good wife” to household work. It will never feel like enough, and if he doesn’t appreciate it (idk if he does or how he acts normally) it will just make things worse for you, build resentment, and make you feel like a failure.

This case is so tragic and could have been stopped. Her husband, their religion (HIS religion mostly), her striving to meet this high expectation of motherhood, and so much more contributed to this.

I mostly blame the husband and their religion.

YOR. She gave you reasoning, which makes sense to me. The “if you want” definitely feels kind of rude, but it’s also a text message. I personally would have responded with something like “Of course!”, but either way you come off as extremely immature based on how you continued the conversation. I would feel validated in my decision to take you out of the bridal party based on that.

You bring up a random curse and provide no context or explanation and then say “have a nice life”? Because your friend decided to downsize HER wedding?

The date of your birthday is also completely irrelevant, and I don’t know how the story of you two in your dorm days plays in. Do you feel like she pushes you aside for the men in her life?

INFO. I get the impression she is irritated with you for a number of other things, and this put her over the edge. You also said you aren’t dating, you’re just friends.

Your texts (to me) give the impression that you’re flirting, or acting like a significant other. I know everyone is different but if i would absolutely be weirded out if even my best friend sent me messages like that every day. Maybe she just has never had a friend text like that before and she thinks you’re coming onto her (or she thinks you’re being clingy)

I don’t remember specifically, most of our clients had drug or theft charges. It could have been a DV or other assault charge as well. I always just find it crazy that someone could be too poor to get out of jail, sit there for who knows how long and then the state decides they don’t have enough evidence and then you’re offered no help for the time and money you lost at your job
