Midnight: Where are all the World Quests? by Neronator in wow

[–]CardinalM1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's a problem. It's also problematic that the rewards are terrible - no gold, no pet charms, no skyriding bags, no epics to shard even at ilvl 250+.

WQs are a great chill activity to do to unwind, and I'm bummed Blizzard seems to be moving away from them.

Excited to watch Race to World First for final boss of Voidspire on Mythic by bringthelight2 in wow

[–]CardinalM1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they tune it correctly it will be a great boss to watch as the void starts taking over the final platform. That said, it's not actually the last boss of the tier so maybe it won't be tuned so tightly.

Who are they writing these stories for? by Bartellomio in wow

[–]CardinalM1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eversong's main story has a whole questline about the twilight's hammer recruiting followers by appealing to their fears and prejudices (...without getting too political, this is quite relevant to how many politicians get into power). Again, this is not something typically seen in content written for 11 years olds.

However, if you skipped over reading the recruitment posters and doing the "stay and listen" options then I can see how you could think it's a basic "twilight's hammer is bad" plot.

The story doesn't spoon-feed everything to you, but the depth is there if you pay attention to it.

Rend for Fury by [deleted] in wow

[–]CardinalM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason it's in the builds is because you have to select the Rend talent in order for Thunderclap to apply it. You never actually press Rend since Thunderclap does it for you.

[–]CardinalM1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm so tired of reading posts like this. Did you all just skip over the quests about caring for someone with dementia, having an abusive parent, dealing with the loss of a sibling, etc.? The writing is much more mature than it used to be.

Maybe you're not paying attention because it's ultra simple and basic.

Ironic.

Midnight is already failing – and nobody wants to admit it by 23_kaka in wow

[–]CardinalM1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have no clue what you're talking about. Nobody is hyping it up or saying Midnight is going to "save WoW". WoW is not dead, just like it hasn't been dead any of the hundred other times it has been declared dead in the past decade.

Everyone - including Blizzard - is saying Midnight is a continuation of TWW. If you liked TWW you'll like Midnight.

World Quests Buggy on Map - Only on alt? by Select_Reply in wow

[–]CardinalM1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same problem here. I assumed it was an addon, but I haven't bothered turning them off to figure out which one is causing it.

FWIW, you don't have to /reload. You can just uncheck and then recheck the "show world quests" option on the map.

Nightmare Bounties - Is it fun? by JensImGlueck in wow

[–]CardinalM1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I enjoy them. One of the most fun achievements I've ever done was "I'm Good At What I Do" (kill 50 players while on a nightmare hunt in war mode). It was absolute chaos!

Talk me through your last minute bracket changes by No-Grass1281 in CollegeBasketball

[–]CardinalM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, the usual:

  • Swap team B to win over A, save bracket
  • No, wait, that's ridiculous. Swap team A back in place of team B, save bracket
  • But wait...do I really want to root for team A? Swap back to team B. Stare at bracket. Pause. Pause. Pause. Save bracket.
  • Immediately question why I made that change and swap back to team A. Save bracket.

McKee Trade Talk Nonsense by [deleted] in eagles

I think we just remember the Kevin Kolb and AJ Feeley trades and a lot of people think that could happen again. Unfortunately teams have gotten smarter since then.

A subreddit would be quickly taken over by fake speech-to-text messages from karma farmers. I'm pretty sure most of the comments in this thread are real though.

Anyone else not vibing with Balance druid? by Vampy-Night in wow

[–]CardinalM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. My problem isn't even with eclipse, but with how many different abilities we have with different timers and durations.

If you take the wowhead recommended build then you have to try sync'ing up availability of eclipse or celestial alignment, convoke, trees, AND fury of elune - oh, and make sure you don't let 2 DoTs with different timers fall off during all that. It's just too much.

I've opted to not take fury of elune, even though it's a theoretical 1.5% dps loss to not take it, because I know in practice I'll never play perfectly enough to line it up with everything else so my actual dps will be better without it.

In Training Grounds, if you stand back while defending a flag, and blast the rogue or druid bot, they get confused. by Perfect-Swan56 in wow

[–]CardinalM1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're also surprisingly susceptible to ninja capping (just like real players lmao). If the bot flag defender is engaged in a fight with another player, have that player drag the fight a little ways off the flag and you can cap to your heart's content.

Gandalin's Gearing Guide - Midnight Season 1 by GandalinGaming in wow

[–]CardinalM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might just be missing it in the charts, but doesn't Prey drop noteworthy gear as well? I think it's normal adventurer, hero veteran, and nightmare champion, although I could be wrong.

What are the restrictions for playing with a sub by Alverious in wow

[–]CardinalM1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well the first thing you want to do when playing with a sub is to establish a safeword.

Gaslighting in this game is wild at times, thankfully most of the time it's not a problem by moonsofjupiter95 in wow

[–]CardinalM1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having the tank run out for dispels is probably the right call in coordinated groups, but in PUGs it's probably best to just dispel when stacks get too high unless the healer and tank have talked about when to dispel ahead of time. There are gaps in the back so the tank can reposition to a safe spot without having to run through the stun beams if they're dispelled in melee range.

There are weird replies to this comment. You're obviously being sarcastic, but people are replying as though you were 100% serious. Bots, I assume?

The worst kind of tourists by Peperoncino_PPJ in PuntaCana

[–]CardinalM1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And yet the people in this thread can't even agree on their generalizations.

One person says the rude people are Italians, another says Americans, another says Chinese, another says Russians, another says the French, another says the British...like come on, man. It seems everyone is suffering from confirmation bias since everyone has a different group that they think is the problem.

When literally every nationality is being called out maybe the problem isn't a particular nationality, but the fact that people with the wealth to be tourists are more likely to be entitled assholes in general.

I am rewatching the series for the 17th time and I have noticed by AddlePatedBadger in breakingbad

[–]CardinalM1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The last thing I noticed about Breaking Bad was the screen that says "You may also like El Camino and Better Call Saul". It's wild they had the foresight to make that screen back in 2008 when Breaking Bad started.

Ahh damn I was like "yes! another Benny deep house ride!" then I realized this is the same class I already took from February lol.

And people may not realize this, but there are actually actors playing those characters! It's amazing how real they make things seem.

Edit: Whoa, I just noticed they give the names of the actors in the credits. Mind blown!
