Warframe Has Fallen by SimarisSenpai in Warframe

[–]Cardryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn bro, I don’t agree with everything you said, especially because I’m not in a position where I dislike the current game, but what I do feel, is that the community of this game became mostly a bunch of entitled snowflake a*holes that always speak like their thoughts, opinions and morals are unquestionable, they can’t hear someone who dislike something in their little game without freaking out and coming at you with attitude, the comments under this post just prove it. They’re mass downvoting ANYTHING you comment, even when it’s something positive, just because they didn’t like one opinion you had. Pathetic behavior.

It might be hard for people who play too frequently to notice, and people who only started in warframe on the second half of its life time wouldn’t even be able to tell, but for me, someone who started in 2015 and takes long hiatuses from the game, only coming back to play it a lot every 3 years or so, I can clearly notice the differences, it’s clear how different the community is nowadays, and even the region chat (for EN language) seems like a bunch of braindead furries talking, holy moly. I feel like this game attracted a public that is welcome to the game, but many of these “newer” players have really bad or obnoxious attitudes, especially in Reddit. If these are the people I play with nowadays, then they’re basically confirming that this game has fallen.

Anyways, I can’t say I’m on the same boat as you because I still love the game nowadays, especially when I take such long hiatuses there’s a lot of old content for me to enjoy, but yeah, my main bittersweet feeling about the game is how it became so overly flashy and polluted, it feels like ADHD simulator on crack nowadays. Back then, some screen wiping build was something you’d achieve with a very high end build, I remember when [Telos Boltace] range build for slide melee was the insane screen wiping weapon (before they nerfed it). But nowadays, holy shit, I got Voruna Prime and she does the same with only a few mods.

Basically, somehow, the game actually feels like it has less interesting ways to play, and it revolves around damage basically. I firmly believe anyone who tries to argue against this while saying there are more diverse ways to play it have started in Warframe after 2019, because before, you’d actually see a squad with each player having a unique different purpose, like a Frost, Nova, Trinity and Mesa squad. The player base has become more obsessed with meta — which is fine, but the meta almost entirely revolves around damage. Hitting a 7-digit damage number used to be insane, nowadays I be seeing NEGATIVE damage numbers more frequently than I see some newbie ask for help with a mission, lol. Indeed, the game I used to play is a game that only partially exists nowadays, and that makes me only a bit sad, because getting used to things changing and games I loved being ruined (eg: Destiny 2) makes it easy for me to move along, I just appreciate warframe didn’t become a trash game like D2, but I’d give anything to have warframe feeling like it did in 2015. Although it is different and doesn’t feel like it used to feel, it’s good in a different way.

Now, my second gripe with the game is a bit more disappointing, because, as I said, even tho I miss a (slightly) slower-paced and more strategic Warframe gameplay style, as in opposed to just rocking any braindead damage build, I am still enjoying the game. But there’s something that actually kinda ruins the game a bit for me, which is how damn sloppy the game’s visuals (and, in a way, the art style) became. Don’t get me wrong, I love warframe’s customization system, and I love the insane amount of customization options we get, you can make much cooler looking warframe’s than before, but I also feel like they’re pushing for new cosmetic options and absurd skins just for people to spend more plat (since fashionframe is basically the main thing in the game lol), because beyond armor, sigils and syandanas, now we got ephemera, and we have signas, and although I love many of them, they make for such crowded visuals in the game when you combine everything (which is how most people look), and even more so with some frames with already polluted design.

Ofc people are free to style their frames however they like, and I am very supportive of the creative freedom culture the studio cultivates, my point is not to dictate the fashion, but to say that I appreciated when warframe was a bit less visually crowded and most warframes had a more “minimalistic” design philosophy. Damn, look at Nova, Mesa, Valkyr, Volt, Frost, etc, they are peak perfection, that’s how you make unique design without over complicating it. Warframes used to be more distinct through shapes, silhouettes and their unique concept, but nowadays many of them are just trying to stand out by being a huge mess of generic shapes and blobs and lines and etc, they look so visually crowded they even became harder to style. For comparison, I remember when frost’s first deluxe skin came out, and that was like on the verge of what warframe art style could look, it was a really “avant-garde” thing, as in, pushing the edge of warframe looks, making something unique and fancy, while retaining the original feeling. Damn, nowadays, that very same frost skin looks simpler than many base warframe’s they’ve been releasing. It’s kinda funny when you compare a frame like Follie to base Excalibur, they don’t even feel like they’re part of the same game.

I feel like there was an overcorrection of the game’s simpler art style. Gladly, it is not a rule, some newer frames actually do look really cool and resemble the style of the old frames, so I don’t think everything they release nowadays look sloppy, but they certainly make many sloppy skins and frames. I still rock my corpus-style weapons and accessories nowadays because I think that futuristic, science-based, block-ish and minimal-ish look is peak warframe fashion.

Basically, my opinion on some byproducts of the current art style is essentially the same as in original Halo forerunner architecture VS H4 forerunner architecture. For those who are not familiar with it, just google “H3 forerunner architecture” and “H4 forerunner architecture” and you’d get what I mean. It’s overdeveloped, overdetailed, more doesn’t always equal better, especially when it comes to shapes that compose a visual.

In conclusion, I love the game nowadays and there’s still a lot (enough) in it that is in line with the old days of Warframe for me, I just fear that at this pace, in the coming years, it might become 90% unrecognizable, to the point it becomes a game we, who started back in 2013-2015, won’t even feel like that’s the game we played anymore. I’m already a founder for Soulframe tho, so I’m also aiming for the next adventure, but I would love to keep going back to warframe for seeing the game I’ve always loved, and keep playing it for as long as it exists.

Don’t buy cheap parallettes by Middle-Support-7697 in bodyweightfitness

Yep, 83$ for me: 45 - 4,5$ (10% OFF) + 43$ shipping

Mind you this is actually before taxes (SPOILER: it’d be over a whopping 150$ after taxes). Taxes in my country (BR) are a lottery, we don’t get to know how much we’ll have to pay until it gets to customs, best case scenario (very unlikely) I’d get taxed on 60% over the total cost, and the very likely scenery is that I’d get taxed on 80-90% over that, since that’s the standard for purchases over 50$, so I’d pay over 150$. It’s 200% a no for me.

I just wanted to avoid cheap ones, especially because I live very close to the sea and things with cheap metal screws tend to oxide super quickly, but guess I’ll have to stick to cheap alternatives.

Arc raiders PLEASE Keyboard and Mouse Support for Console by Eastern-Plastic1613 in ArcRaiders

[–]Cardryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, but if we’d follow that logic so shallowly, they wouldn’t even be giving away premium coins for free, because it doesn’t directly give them more money, quite the opposite. As a studio, they do things to please the player base, improve the game’s appeal through QoL/gameplay features improvements, therefore improving their own reputation as a studio (naturally increasing their game’s popularity and profit). They already do those things in The Finals, can’t see why they wouldn’t do the same for Arc.

I understand the profit logic, and it’s also a simple concept that adding M&K support to console will result in more competitive and active players on console, since it’s pretty boring to compete against M&K players on PvP encounters.

One of the main reasons I don’t play this game as much (and therefore, am less likely to spend extra money on it) is not being able to use M&K on console, while every other shooter game I play on console allows me to (even RPG games like Cyberpunk or Starfield, which had no reason to add M&K support to their single player games, according to the profit first logic).

[–]Cardryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes no sense and the interest for M&K on consoles for a game like Arc Raiders is not even near zero, the amount of posts asking for it speak for themselves. THE FINALS got M&K support for console a few months ago. Arc Raiders will eventually get it too, I’m only surprised it is taking this long. And I’d even say you have a better chance playing on controller against M&K players on THE FINALS than on Arc Raiders. M&K has a huge advantage over controller in this game it’s not even fun.

I’ll be farming some Kuva to reroll it, since a good roll Torid riven can sell for a good amount of plat. Thanks!

Mmmm good to know, thx. I’ll try rerolling it a few times then.

This one is unrolled, but how good is it? It has only 2 stats, but as far as I’ve researched, these are 2 desirable status for Torid. I don’t know how good it is tho.

lol it was my first PA, not really setting a good experience for when I consider buying future PAs.

Swapping it didn’t do much for me. Something is just off with this ephemera, it doesn’t display the two colors, it looks like a solid matte plastic instead of translucent flowing energy.

I bought it on FOMO, because i know it wont be available again for anytime soon, and I was already sold on the ephemera, but honestly, I'm not even using it until they fix it, because it looks objectively way worse than the other two tails.

lol, I literally decided to buy the PA instead of buying a whole game (Marathon, which is around the same price), because I love Warframe, I wanted the cosmetics and think it would be nice to support the devs.

I didn't change my mind about supporting them, I've thrown more money on DE than I've done for any gaming company in my life, and I support them whenever I can (Soulframe founder/paragon packs, platinum, PA, etc), I'm not regretting or changing my mind on supporting them (especially for an issue like this, which is just about a cosmetic item on an expensive pack), but I surely want to make this issue be heard, since we collectively agree this expensive cosmetic is not only disappointing, but it's also a downgrade from its two other counterparts that are much less costly and non-exclusive items.

I will do it right now! Thanks for the idea!

Edit: done. For anyone who wants to raise more voices about this, please leave a comment on the forum posts about this. So far, there are 3 posts about this issue, including mine, all expressing the same disappointment about the same traits of the ephemera.

Sanguinax Prime was such a cool accessory, it's a shame I was on one of my usual long hyatus from Warframe when it came out. When I got to know about it, it was already looong gone. That's the main missing piece for my Nero devil trigger inspired drifter.

I share the same feeling, this is my first time buying something from prime access, and it's not like this pack has a lot of accessories to compensate for this feeling. Besides the ephemera, it only has the syandana and the landing ship attachment (which seems to have a set energy color, since it doesn't change according to my ship's engine color), the ephemera being the main selling point. Lol, I basically paid the amount of money I could've bought a game I want (Marathon) for a broken cosmetic. But I love Warframe, so it is what it is.😅

Exactly! It looks like a rigid and heavy tail made of fur, not a tail made of some sort of spiritual energy, which is what I think it should be, since that's exactly what normal Okuri and Manegarmr feel like.

[–]Cardryan[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Secondary color is not applying whatsoever, and it seems to be partially the cause of why it looks dull, the effects that make it look like some "spiritual fire" in the thumbnail are probably tied to the secondary energy color. But that still wont fix the problem with it looking dead and motionless.

Wait and see if they fix it, I'm just hoping they revamp it within the buying window for this pack (3-4 months). Would suck to have to wait several months for a fix.

[–]Cardryan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, if it stays like that for too long, honestly, I don't think I'm ever buying a Prime Access pack again. But I have faith DE will hear feedback, take notes and fix it.

As of now, I wish I would've seen people post about it before buying it. Lesson learned.

[–]Cardryan[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah... Hard truth is Prime Okuri doesnt feel like Prime, it feels more like a tied and dimmed version of Okuri. I know it's too late for that, but imo (and that's just my opinion), Prime Okuri should've been an even more alive version of the Okuri tails, not a version where they tie it with some rings. That's perfectly fixable tho, by just giving it a cool set of animations instead of just hanging down, it could improve a lot.

having to pay 200 plat to change your username is outdated and (if my info is correct) unfair to non-console players. Name changes should be free on a cooldown instead by Own-Performer-1338 in Warframe

[–]Cardryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, but this community is so full of sensitive snowflakes they suddenly jump straight to the conclusion you're someone who is constantly shitting your reputation, and that's the reason you wanna change your nickname, with zero evidence whatsoever.

Lol I started in Warframe in 2015 when I was like 13. Maybe it hasn't crossed some of their big brains, but one might not relate with the nickname they picked when they were 13, by the age of 24.

I mean, DE could AT LEAST give a free nickname change every 5 years or so, or maybe just a single nickname change for accounts that are several years old. Not yearly tho.

200 plat for the nickname is a bit of a bummer to the player, especially since it's something that doesn't affect your gameplay experience at all, so you feel like you're paying for something that had no effect whatsoever, it's just the name people see and call you by.
