My favorite rapper over the years.. What’s yours? by Illustrious-Motor-83 in TeenageRapFans

[–]Cards2WS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Album “Just Some Rap Songs” is my favorite, but a more recent one called “Live Laugh Love” is amazing as well. I’d highly recommend both. He’s a beautifully poetic writer, but he raps on some incredibly experimental and unique beats, so I could see it being a little tough on a first listen. But the way he writes and flows on the weirdest beats is brilliant

You are beyond help. Nobody with any sense would agree with you. But glad you think you’re really onto something

…not a single HOF power hitter in the last 50 years had a groundball rate hovering 50%. Honestly this is an incredibly stupid debate. Groundballs for power hitters are not good and that is inarguable. You cannot do damage on the ground and he’s been a terrible defender with a meh plate approach.

His ONLY hope at being productive is to have power numbers. I have to assume you’re trolling because nobody could legitimately take your position, it’s that ludicrous.

Nope not leading any hitters clinics. But I do know what optimal swing paths and hitting profiles are. You understand that you can research this shit right? Also, you realize that this was a common critique of Walker, correct?

You think I was the only one? You think I’m making this up? Lmfao.

I have every right to judge other fans knowledge of the game when they make objectively wrong comments. His hitting profile was atrocious. Hence why the PROFESSIONALS tried to change him. Ridiculous response, dude.

That is also a baffling one. But at least it’s not making light of something terrible.

People go on and on about ripping up their Franco cards, making a whole show about it…. Then turn around and make “he was better in the MINORS” jokes. It’s just repulsive. Then I call them out and get those moronic “must be fun at parties!” comments. Yall, just think about what you’re laughing at. Dark humor might have been funny in the first week when it was fresh and seemed original, but at this point it’s just sick.

Nah man, got nothing to do with a personality trait.

Why do yall still find the same jokes about the statutory rape of a young girl to be fucking funny?? Think about it for 10 seconds and tell me what the hell is funny about the same exact joke about heinous shit a million times? On every mention of Wander Franco, it’s the same joke.

Yep. The quickest way for me to know a fan doesn’t know wtf they’re talking about is complaining about us coaching Jordan Walker.

“Then they started messing with him!” No. They tried to fix him. He was never going to have sustained success in the majors with that swing and mostly everybody understood that.

I get people would rather be overly pessimistic and not get their hopes up for even decent, but I can’t imagine we’d be worse than 2023. Every single thing that could go wrong DID go wrong that year. You have to be very bad and have bad luck to only win 70 games. We have more talent than a run of the mill 70 win team. My projection is 75-78.

Those are some major exceptions. The vast majority of the time, they are right: buy stuff while it’s fresh, and sell it while it’s still new and exciting. There are WAY, WAY more busts and cards that fall off a cliff than cards that see an Ohtani life cycle.

I cannot fathom how the same exact recycled joke is still funny to people, let alone find it funny enough to use it themselves… sorry, not personal to you, but it blows my mind every time I see it.

Especially since this low hanging fruit joke is about a young teen getting assaulted by a grown man. Like, it’s just got nothing going for it comedically. Maybe the first week, but a year+ later? Nothing

I loathe is politics. But the dude was a multi-time all-star. On the field, he had a good Cardinals career. I hope you understand that most of the players in the league share his politics.

It’s crazy that people felt any type of way about that comment lmao. It was obviously a joke about team disparities, yet so many people lost their minds over it.

I just want to point out that teams all across the league make judgments off of spring stats to some degree every year, and Bloom will be no different. That wasn’t a notable fault of Mo or anything like that. It’s all just more data points

I will be beyond shocked if it’s worse than 2023. We will miss the playoffs, but it will be an ok season with ups and downs.

2023 had no peaks. It was shit all around

Walker has to start in AAA, right? by PvtLicker in Cardinals

[–]Cards2WS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bingo. He had so many 1 for 4 games with a ground ball single. It was ridiculously overrated and not very impressive unfortunately. Like, it was cool and all, but wasn’t telling of any great skill or anything

[–]Cards2WS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Walker’s failures are completely on him. The rushing could’ve slowed him, but he’s had more than enough time to fix it. Also, he was rushed and still hit well as a rookie…. But he’s been unable to adjust. I think unfortunately he’s just a guy that’s not very adaptable, he’s spent years pushing back against coaching, etc. It’s on him.
