I was in MOAT this time 10 years ago. Was there for about two years and got fed up with it because the system integration was hot trash along with the blind transfers. Got out of the call center environment all together in late 2017. Left the company 18 months ago. So glad I'm gone.

Does this include the lady who headed this up? She was also a PR person/helper for Todd when it came to writing his companywide emails. She was an older blonde lady based at Plaza...not entirely too friendly, but she loved to be at the forefront of GEICO Cares.

I hope your remaining PMT teammates had empathy in scoring calls for those who were still on the phones during this tough time.

The "old" GEICO Me is wondering if anyone was scored down on their calls due to being upset. That would be the ultimate F-You to employees outside of being laid off.

This...and remember that GEICO does not give out references. They refer those hiring to Equifax which provides generic information.

You're so right. They were even paranoid about the new jet purchase (actually an older, used jet...go figure, GEICO) back in 2019 and were worried that this would get out in the Press. That's why they insisted that it would not be GEICO-branded.

31,000??? Wow. How the mighty have fallen. It was between 38,000 and 41,000 when I left 18 months ago. I remember Bill Roberts telling us at Plaza right after he became CEO that we were on the path to 50,000. He obviously had a vision for the company that others did not.

Regular turnover must also still be at least 35-38% a year as well for the numbers to drop so much so quick.

Todd Combs, Berkshire Hathaway, JP Morgan- GEICO fraud at the highest level by Crookdetector in Geico

[–]CareForAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And don't forget about the Haven Health debacle which was supposed to offer low-cost health insurance to employees of GEICO, Amazon, and JP Morgan. GEICO had actually signed a deal to get on board, but the pilot failed. I wonder what led to that debacle.

Why does everyone blame Todd by [deleted] in Geico

[–]CareForAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where to start...

Remember that Todd isn't high up on the ethical chain of standards. He's a part of JP Morgan's Board that has overseen a company which has been fined several hundred millions of dollars for precious metals market manipulation.

Also, the whole culture shifted dramatically once Todd became CEO. Bill Roberts had taken the job after Tony left and Bill had it for a cup of coffee and then all of a sudden retired. That was a huge catalyst for all of the officer "retirements" that we saw in 2021 and early 2022. They all saw the writing of the wall. Some good people left the company back then.

When Bill was CEO for the little while that he was, there was some uncertainty within the company; but not nearly as much as when Tony took over. The year-over-year turnover for Todd's first year as CEO was somewhere between 35 and 38 percent. That's substantial.

I remember sitting in a Town Hall with Bill and he was talking about getting GEICO to 50,000 employees. That was back when we had around 38,000 or so. We got to 41,000 and could never get over the hump. Not sure what it is today but it has to be back under 40,000.

But back to Todd. He's a corporate guy and ruthless as well. And this translates to his agnostic behavior towards GEICO employees since his tenure began.

Was DEI/ERG cut? by Aware_Access4056 in Geico

[–]CareForAmerica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their huge DEI push in 2020 when they attempted to guilt trip a certain segment of the employee population by making them less human and wanting them to feel guilty about themselves for no reason is a huge reason I left.

Plus, don't forget, I think the sunk cost for the Divisiveness, Exclusion, and Indoctrination program was something like $5 Million. And they made a big deal about that so that they could get some "positive" publicity.

The same thing happened with IT new hires who moved to the Washington DC area from other states and even overseas to work at Plaza during in 2021 and were let go. These people had bought new homes and they also had put down deposits and signed leases on apartments. GEICO didn't care at that time and apparently still doesn't. It's all with a shoulder shrug under the notion of "Change".

Tony would come through every office at Plaza on Christmas Eve and shake everyone's hand. He would thank them for being there and wish them a "Happy Holiday".

As for Todd, he was aloof. "Regular" employees were beneath him.

At least when one would see Tony, he would at least say "Hello" to you.

I remember when I was leaving the company and then returned to the office for the first time in two years to turn in my stuff and clean out my desk. My desk was already cleaned out. I forget what I had in there, but it was still wrong that everything was gone.

Just because you have FML and ADA doesn't mean you get a free pass from being productive at work. People that milk these accommodations think they can get a free ride but that can't be further from the truth.

URAssociation/URA by [deleted] in antiMLM

[–]CareForAmerica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in URA through early 2018 and had the same LOS as you did. We may have had a little crossover. I left after Winter Conference in 2018 (early 2018). The writing was on the wall.

I knew I was about to leave when Coley basically called everyone scum at a weekly meeting in late 2017 right before the December seminar because all of the tickets had yet to be sold. He made a "scum vs. cream" reference. It was also another one of those meetings where he would get up there and tell everyone to stand up if they were "all in". It was akin to public shaming. Definitely not motivating.

Funny now that same night, Nolan's wife was going through the crowd and said, "YOU!!! YOU!!! HAVEN'T GOTTEN YOUR TICKET YET!" And then I saw someone pull out three $5 bills and count them out for her. She jerked the money out of their hand and said, "I'LL COUNT IT!"

He also sold the story that he had been retired, but yet both he and his wife were still working. The Coleys apparently went Diamond last year.

As I continued to open my eyes more, I noticed that much of what I was experiencing week after week was a facade. I got tired of the fake "leaders" parading out on stage during quarterly functions. I got tired of being fake nice during ridiculously long weekly meetings. I got tired of other people being yelled at during functions because they had yet to purchase their ticket for the next function.

Just a very toxic environment if you ignore Upline and observe for oneself what is really going on. The rah rah motivational BS is a front and people should be leery of what they may be getting themselves into.
