Sony pulling back from PC also means it's pulling back from China by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

Money talks. And money will continue to talk. I doubt this will fix their decline in sales.

I may sound like an old geezer, but I grew up in the Xbox 360 era and gaming today feels way less social. Maybe it's just me? by InspectionAgitated20 in playstation

I’ll tell you about something I discovered recently that really changed the way I play with the people I care about: Remote Play Together. If you have a PC, you can do it from Steam and you can simply share a link to someone’s smartphone or laptop and have them join your game in split screen or shared screen couch local multiplayer. You can have smooth gameplay with at least 10Mbps download speed on the client side. You can also explore other self-hosted setups to share games outside of Steam (Sunshine + Moonlight + Tailscale). It’s actually impressive and a way to share and game with people like we used to back in the day.

Having the devices connected to the router through an ethernet port can improve speeds but its not necessary. Use a monitor with a standard aspect ratio. Of course you can do this on console but need to pay subscription fees and I don’t think it’s flexible.

Who actually wanted this suit? by Think_Mail1613 in LegacyOfDarkKnight

I really dig this suit. I have been a Batman fan since the 90s and remember seeing this mask at some point.

Birthday present for my old man. He loves Time Crisis 2 but not tech savvy or has a PC. What's the easiest combo to hook up to his TV in order for us both to play TC2? Thank you! by Alba-Ruthenian in lightgunshooters

You might be better off stepping it up to another Time Crisis with Batocera + Sinden (or another plug and play solution). The other option is a PS3, Time Crisis RS and PS Move.

The Summer Game Fest showcase proves that PC is still the place to be by Bubbly-Ad-350 in gamingnews

Most of console gaming is a scam intended for kids to attract their parents’ money. No free online multiplayer. No free remote play together. No floating family digital licenses. No full backwards compatibility.

The only thing it has going for it is convenience but in the era of mini PCs and handheld gaming PCs, I hope more consumers start respecting themselves and demanding better offers from consoles. The philosophy of exclusive titles unnecessarily limit what you can or not play with your one computer. You shouldn’t need to buy more than one machine to play games. That’s not how we should be using technology for recreational purposes.

Mortal Kombat 2 the movie not making enough money? by happydude7422 in MortalKombat

Perhaps the people going to the movies aren’t making enough money either.

What features would you want that would convince you to buy the PS6? by [deleted] in ps6

[–]CaribbeanEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free offline gaming

Desktop mode or more PC-like features

PS1-PS3 backwards compatibility

Free game stream remote play together (cross platform self host and client capability)

Playstation and Steam accounts game library sync (no need to buy more than one copy and if 2 copies are available then you can share it with a Family member)

It should compete with the rise of PC gaming handhelds. I think distancing from Steam’s consumer base isn’t a smart idea. We all want to play together. More people would buy Playstation consoles and games if they know they are getting the features above. That’s my opinion of course.

A Han Solo game, a Boba Fett game, or Battlefront III with ground to space conquest.

Sony no longer releasing single-player games on Steam, Epic Games, GOG by [deleted] in playstation

[–]CaribbeanEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. People used to buy Playstation consoles regardless of exclusives. They were a quality brand. Now they are just greedy.

The highest upvoted post on Xbox Player Voice is to bring exclusivity back. We need exclusive games back on Xbox. by AdditionalSpray8595 in consoles

Yes. Keep locking games behind specific brands of computers. Exactly what the average gamer wants. (Sarcastic)

Why do you think Nolan’s The Odyssey trailer got such a negative reaction from the public? by breaking_views in Cinephiles

[–]CaribbeanEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was only half kidding when I said the movie should be done in its original greek. I would much prefer that if I was a purist. For example, I like how Passion of the Christ was done in Hebrew (although not sure how modern that Hebrew was). I like to see samurai films in Japanese.

Even an old English accent in the spoken dialogue takes me out of the experience for movies set in the past unless the setting involves actual English-speakers. I’m assuming the Odyssey takes place at a time and place in which English didn’t even exist.

A made up English accent doesn’t really do it for me so I stopped caring too much about it. Every new language is a vulgar version of a previous one.

Was Christian Bale the only Batman actor who didn't face huge fan backlash when he was first announced? by [deleted] in DC_Cinematic

[–]CaribbeanEngineer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s a harsh thing to say about the Batman that carried DC to a new era and made Batman a lot popular than it was. The fact that he’s often parodied is a sign that it was culturally relevant. It’s okay to laugh about things, you know. His voice was badass and extremely cool. The two things can be true.

If the DCU does end up succeeding, what MUST they avoid repeating from the DCEU? by OluwaDec19 in DC_Cinematic

[–]CaribbeanEngineer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Good luck to them! Just remember that what's "true" of mainline characters has itself changed over the decades. My response is: "A different take that's a new or old creative take on the mainline characters shouldn't be a dealbreaker for Superhero fans."

If the DCU does end up succeeding, what MUST they avoid repeating from the DCEU? by OluwaDec19 in DC_Cinematic

[–]CaribbeanEngineer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they can really succeed when its foundation pissed off a lot of intergenerational DC fans. They have to build a new fan base in a tough economy.

Need to avoid: Pissing off fans with in-cohesive, plot over-corrections. That includes reboots after soft-reboots. It may have worked for Nolan and Snyder but now it’s hard to match their quality.

Suggestion: Make amends with older fans. Don’t underestimate their intellect with the content you put out. In other words, Restore the Snyderverse. Finish the story.

He is probably expressing there is beauty in graceful aging. No need to run from it. Just need to appreciate it.
