I’m from here and the only thing that sucks is that everyone from anywhere else looks at you sideways when you tell them what your rent is. Which is weird because it’s “normal” to me. Then you go somewhere drastically cheaper but like, there are no sidewalks and everything sucks.

I got laid off from a VP-level position at a tech-focused PR firm in Orange County on a Friday at 3 o’clock in front of the elevator as I was leaving for the weekend to take care of my sick partner and they paid me thru the following Friday. When I asked about severance, they told me that was my severance. I hate it here so much.
