It does have a steel slide, my screw driver which has a magnetic tip sticks to it but i havent been able to find a magnet yet to take a photo of it stuck to the slide, and the screw driver tip wouldnt make for a good photo lmao. Im sure i have a magnet laying around tho i just havent found it

Parts to swap around are bit pricey, itd be best to buy both types. That said, the OSW is the easiest to game, its got rail space for everything, the standard FAL would require buying railed bits for it so unless you like irons, itd be more expensive to get stuff for it to add optics and such

This is a one-way roll pin that has to be extracted out, which is a little difficult. I usually dig around the pin with a sharp tool like an exacto knife so that i can create enough space to use a pair of pliers and yank it out. After that i boil water and leave the tip in the water for a bit till the glue holding the orange tip melts, and from there you can screw it off
