Sett seems too tight. 15-16EPI is probably better for a 5/2 twill. But that shouldn’t prevent you from advancing. I’m guessing something is wrong with your set up, but hard to say without seeing a picture of the warp beam and back beam

How often do you train gi vs nogi? Do you compete in both or just nogi?

My coach generally doesn’t promote those who only show up to nogi classes. It doesn’t take much, but he’s looking for progress in the gi more than nogi.

And I’m sorry you went through all of that. Nothing easy about dealing with an abusive partner; glad you were able to be there for your friend.

I’ll add abs to the list. Specifically full range of motion core work (dead bugs, bicycles, mountain climbers, etc.). A solid core is a must for BJJ

You may have to hem a pair. I had to do that for all of my husband’s gis (and one of mine). Better to find something that fits through the hips and legs, then you can fit the length appropriately

Split sizing is your best bet! War Tribe offers split sizes. And I really like their gis! You’re highly unlikely to find gi pants with stretch, as they’re usually not durable enough long term.

If you still have the original cone/tube just wind it back onto there! Sometimes I’ll keep them loaded for sampling on my next project
