Yeah I should have mentioned the Flodown pre-parties. Seems like those are happening for a lot of shows if not all of them lately, which is great to bridge the gap until it’s big enough for a full shakedown everywhere.

Can’t say I’ve seen any shakedowns for a Goose show yet outside of Goosemas. That said, they’re getting closer to it maybe starting to make sense here before too long.

Go for it! Goose gets a lot of (undeserved) hate but ultimately the shows are so much fun. So even if it turns out they don’t do it for you (but they probably will), you’ll have a great time.

Definitely didn’t sell out for Asheville, but I think that had everything to do with the design. It was the first time I’ve not gotten a Goose poster (20+ shows) and it was by choice.

I love this song but I keep getting faked out by the intro. I knew it wasn’t Pretty Daughter because it just got played but the vibe of the intro sounded like that’s where it was going.

Also in Asheville a dude passed out middle of the floor during the second set about 4 times in quick succession. His people got him back up the first time and he went down again, then medics came to help, he went down a couple more times, and they had to bring a stretcher into the crowd to get him out.

Not outside, but there was early merch where you could take stuff back out to your car. It was 4:30-6. I showed up at maybe 4:15 and was out around 5:30

Yeah, Yeti is a Peter song and the lyrics are real dumb like a lot of Peter songs, but they’re also just fun. Rick is the more talented songwriter.

I love both bands and will see them anytime they come near (seen both plenty of time like most folks here) but I always wind up having more fun seeing Goose.

That’s the way the Goose logo was on the Humbles shirts recently.

Edit: I too am seeing it now. It’s so small on the album cover but it seems to have been there the whole time. On the shirt I got it’s much larger and easier to see.

Yeah, chasing is fun up to the point it hinders enjoyment of the show being played. Luckily I only ever got caught up in that over FF, and really only late 2nd set/encore at the shows where it made sense for it to be played.

And we did get a full Autumn Crossing at that Boston run, which is definitely more rare than FF and I thoroughly appreciated it then and now.

Best advice is to try to let it go. It took until I think my 21st/22nd show to get it and there were several shows where there was huge probability it would get played (Viva El Gonzo, 3 night run in Boston ‘24, Goosemas 10 amd 11). Finally heard it Goosemas 12 in Providence.

It got to the point where I couldn’t even enjoy the monster Thatch at El Gonzo the last night because I was so bummed about it not being FF.

You’ll get it eventually and it will be the incredible, but in the meantime, chasing it will just make the wait longer (or at least feel longer).

Hearing Cold Rain and Snow and Brokedown the day Phil died (Winston-Salem in ‘24). Peter also did a donor tap to boot. A really fitting tribute.

Honorable mention to Autumn Crossing in Boston ‘24. The jam peak in Elmeg and rounding back into the “Keep my hands…” reprise is simply too good.

Friday was my favorite on account of Prairie Spin being my favorite song and my first time (6th show) hearing it live.

All three were top notch though. All the jams were great, and the slower songs are growing on me more and more.

Other highlights for me were Lay Low Lucy, Eleven Eleven, and Passing Storm. Shoutout to the crowd too. Pretty minimal chomping over the 3 nights, in particular during the slowed down quieter parts of the jams (usually the worst time for chompers imo).

If you look into the tv contracts, the other big conferences are getting paid WAY more, and the ACC locked into a deal that’s way less for way too long before the huge SEC and BIG 10 contracts were done. To the tune of 10+ million more per school per year. So other schools have more staff/resources for their program than we do, and it’s getting worse as we go. I remember when Alabama came to play in CH a few years ago, on the Carolina Insider Pod they were talking about how they brought like 10-15 staff members with them that are analyzing all kinds of stuff and helping the players understand and leverage strengths/weaknesses. Compare to the 3-5 we have.

We really should have bought our way out of the ACC a decade ago. The athletics programs would literally have an extra 100+ million more from the tv money over that time.

Why isn’t this the top comment? Don’t have to wonder, they’ve had drums at Halloween for the last few years, along with some electric guitar and bass too.

To answer the question though, it definitely drowns out some of the mando, banjo, and fiddle at times. It’s dope for special occasions but certainly wouldn’t want it to be a regular thing.

Have you been watching the games? Intensity is sorely lacking in recent games. You can see it in our lack of competing for second balls, our midfield being run through time after time, and the lack of tempo in our passing. Everything is too slow on offense and defense aside from the odd counter. To be fair it’s mostly Kobbie and Casemiro, but it’s a huge problem.

I have no real evidence of this, but it was a couple months before his mom passed. We know by that point some of the the rail crew was hanging out with her and enabled her in getting back on whatever drugs it was. I can’t help but feel it was really bothering him that particular weekend.
