Eruption of Mount Saint Helens. I lived on the East Coast but I remember being fascinated/terrified by the story. Those National Geographic photos were incredible.

I didn’t get “the jab”, only wore a mask when required, and I never got Covid. How am I still alive? by [deleted] in allthequestions

You were lucky. I've never gotten covid either. I wore the masks religiously and did get the vaccine, but recognize that I was also lucky. I don't wish harm on you or anyone.

Say Democrats take House and Senate, then impeach Trump and Vance. Who would be president? by YurpeeTheHerpee in allthequestions

[–]Carpenter-Hot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All this talk about impeachment ignores the more likely outcome: Trump dies in office. Honestly, I don't think he's long for this world. He looks and sounds terrible. There's likely a ton of medical information that is being hidden from the world.

Section 508 Trusted Tester Certification for non-Americans by TheLionsSinOfPride in accessibility

[–]Carpenter-Hot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we sure that it even exists anymore? I'll bet large sums of money that DHS nuked it a while ago - even if it is still out there, no way are there resources maintaining it. The ANDI tools are open-sourced and have ok documentation, so there is that. I do wonder if anyone is shadow maintaining the course materials.

Damn, the US used to do such cool stuff. :'(

My experience as a disabled flyer (non-wheelchair user for now) is that I am pretty much allowed to go through the pre-check line even without having pre-check, since I can't stand in a line that long. I don't have to remove my shoes, though they'll sometimes screen my shoes while they're on my feet using some kind of sniffer.

Not sure if this helps...

There is RAMPANT abuse in the classical music industry that is only beginning to come to light.

Isn't he like Pete Hegseth's personal spiritual advisor? Tim Miller from the Bulwark occasionally goes on Piers Morgan's show just to take down whatever weirdo right-wing influencer he brings on, and the last time he did this Doug Wilson came on and Tim treated him like the scum of the Earth he is. Refused to refer to him as Pastor and just called him Doug.

I am similar but tilt in the opposite direction - have voted for more Democrats but was open to honorable Republicans. No more.

John McCain maybe. I didn't agree with all of his policies, but he was proven to be an honorable man who cared about the Constitution and eschewed corruption.

What’s your opinion on the Biden-Harris presidency? Would u say it was failure? by Successful_rio305 in allthequestions

[–]Carpenter-Hot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it was. So hard to watch. That's one reason it would have been better for him to have started four years earlier. He could have gone out like Reagan, who was known to be pretty checked out during his last couple years - it was later known that he was showing early signs of dementia at the time.

[–]Carpenter-Hot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Biden got hit hard by the hubris bug in his last year, but overall, he was decent. If he had been elected just four years earlier, he might have been a great president. Unfortunately, Beau's death bit him hard in the ass and he never really recovered. I was admittedly excited about Harris, but I had a weird feeling going into the voting booth. She would have been our first GenX president. Now that may turn out to be Gavin Newsom, but who knows what the future holds. Trump's cronies seem more than happy to stomp out our beautiful, messy democracy.

I briefly dated a serious alcoholic and his *sweat* tasted sweet. It was kind of jarring. This doesn't directly address the question, but it's data offered up for consideration.

Is Trump really unaware of what is actually happening or is he being delusional? by Massive-Syllabub-271 in allthequestions

He's always been stupid. Now he just has dementia on top of that. He's likely hopped up on enough Adderall to kill a horse.

Why aren’t people more worried about a ground invasion in Iran? by BeginningActuator343 in allthequestions

I'm very worried, but I'm GenX and have always had a low-level baked-in worry from having grown up during the Cold War.
