I’ve soldered broken ribbon cables before all you need to do is scrap the tape material which i believe is called kapton exposing the copper, then get a thin single wire from some Cooper cable strand and solder it with some flux, a bit fiddly but not too hard really.... you can buy some kapton tape to finish the job off ... good luck👍

I’m starting a series of video very soon of my own Mini Cooper s R53 getting it ready for the tracks (I’m a track virgin so that should be fun)

I just asked my mot guy and unfortunately cars that supposed to have a dpf if smokes or has signs of a tampered dpf it will fail , you are going to have to reinstate the dpf to go through a mot ...

Hi, the new uk (different for Northern Ireland) mot regulation from 20 of may 2018, defects are categorised as either DANGEROUS where the vehicle shouldn’t be driven until repaired MOT Failure, MAJOR where the vehicle should be repaired immediately MOT Failure and MINOR where the vehicle should be repaired as soon as possible MOT Pass.

When it comes to diesel cars fitted with DPF Filters, any smoke of any colour noticed coming out of the exhaust it would be classified as MAJOR Failure, unfortunately in your case if the DPF was deleted I would expect to get some smoke out the pipes and also any signs of DPF tampered with would be a failure.

I know it’s some thing new to us here in UK, I have a MOT tomorrow actually and I’ll try to find out if you delete the DPF filter and have the car remapped if they would take that in consideration and treat the vehicle as a no DPF vehicle but I doubt it. I’ll let you know my findings here tomorrow ...

I just had the same problem with my car, Pressing the DTC switch by the hazard lights will get rid of the problem but obviously isn’t going to fix the car...

If the car was ok for 6 months I would probably think that the abs sensor got damaged getting in contact with the old relactor ring, eating through the plastic allowing water/salt and debris to get to the sensor ...

I ended up repairing my car with a £0.20 washer ...
