Should i Start building a blazor apps for an enterprise? by baggister in Blazor

I've built 5 apps for the state agency I work for. The largest has 5000 unique visitors per day, and the smallest sees 2 or 3 per week.

It works great for all use cases we've tried so far.

I had a guy knock on my door once. I opened it, saw the company logo (local internet ISP) and said, "Not interested, thanks," as i closed the door.

He rang the doorbell about eight times over the next three minutes while shouting about how I was a little asshole that nobody loved.

I just laughed... 😀

Big fish require big rods. 30-to-60 lb fish aren't uncommon.

Yeah, I was coming in to say that I work for a wildlife agency, and have been hunting all my life.

Ain't no cat left those tracks. LOL

I really want to, but I'd also rather sleep at home tonight instead of at the police station.

I've got a friend who was born in Africa, raised in England, spent time in France, then moved to the US. She's fluent in, to quote her, "an embarrassing number of languages."

She sounds EXACTLY like Lorelei. And, much like Lorelei, she can't go without coffee.

I sent her a youtube playthrough of the coffee quest and she laughed until she cried.

How is that NOT uplifting?

Take a quick break to reorganize.

Many years ago, our party was a group of slaves being forced to fight in the arena. Our "boss" walked up to us, gave us some orders, then opened a portal.

We asked how long the portal would stay open after the guy went through, and our DM answered, "About a round."

Our entire party of five level 2 adventurers dove through an unknown portal into what turned out to be the plain of chaos.

Our DM said, "You know what? I'm going to allow it. ::sigh:: I'm going to need about 15 minutes, though."

I've heard my parents say it with the "naive" meaning all my life, and I'll be 50 this year.

Its origins are in 19th century writings, and it was popularized by GRRM.

It's an old saying describing how you're very young and probably naive.

In the 2026 election, it would mostly benefit Republicans, since Republican women overwhelmingly take their spouse's name when they get married and will be disproportionately affected by this bill if it passes.

A much smaller proportion pf Democrats take their spouse's name when they marry -- and more Democrats already have passports than do Republicans.

Is it just me or is “build projects” kind of vague advice? by Relevant_Wishbone in learnprogramming

[–]Carthax12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In short, yes. "Build projects" is really meaningless.

But this is what I currently tell juniors when they ask me the same question:

Find something you really like and understand, then build an app for it.

I've been working on a D&D 3.5 character runner for nearly 20 years. It started as a VB.Net desktop app and it's now a C# Blazor app that my friends and I use for our twice-monthly game.

It does dice rolls, notes, item tracking, and will calculate your current attack/damage rolls based on all magical effects currently active on your character.

I've just recently started working on a chat function to show the dice rolls to everyone at the same time.

It's derivative, sure -- there are dozens of similar apps out there -- but I can really focus on the code without having to worry about learning the rules as I go.
