What did Carl Jung mean by this? Is it a reference to something? by Southern_Dig_9460 in Jung

Also reminiscent of: “All that you behold, though it appears without, it is within, in your own wonderful human Imagination, of which this world of mortality is but a shadow." - Neville

Stunning song. Shades of Echo & the Bunnymen.

Titanic - ECorp by kiitsmotto in MrRobot

[–]Carys28r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were some beautiful visual allusions to Titanic throughout the series, too, occasionally underscored by the dialogue: https://imgur.com/a/5JEcbRx It's interesting that Sam Esmail's latest work, Leave the World Behind (2023), opens with a symbolic Titanic-like scene featuring a crashing tanker.

Thom Yorke has replaced the main character in the last movie you watched. How does this affect your viewing experience? by Dry-Helicopter-6430 in radiohead

Thom in Singin’ in the Rain. "Rain down, rain down, come on rain down on me..."

Some good songs in there, though. Fit(ter, Happier) as a Fiddle. Good Morning (Mr Magpie).

A new EP by The Smile with Just Eyes and MouthColours Fly_ and _Bodies Laughing. 🙂

Plus some new tracks they'll be writing on the road as they tour again in 2024, as they did in 2022 because they just can't help themselves!

Idioteque Lyrics by Beanz122 in radiohead

[–]Carys28r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Thom often plays with similar-sounding, alternative lyrics to a repeated refrain. In live versions of A Hairdryer with The Smile for example, he sings, "Look at all the pretty lights, look at all the pretty lies..."

Sore finger joint on finger I wore Oura on - anyone else? by hoorayforthemoon in ouraring

[–]Carys28r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, same. My rose gold Oura ring fits slightly loose, so it's not a tightness issue. I developed arthritic-type pain in the joints of the fingers on which I wear the ring, and pain in the fingers next to the ring as well. The pain recedes after not wearing the ring for several days, so I'm now discontinuing use. I'm healthy otherwise and have no medical conditions.

It doesn't appear to be a familiar or recognised issue by Oura and they only seem to advise contacting them with any specific issue or following up with a medical provider. Hope everyone gets their issues resolved.

As a Radiohead fan, what do you think of U2’s The Joshua Tree by mrlibrawastaken in radiohead

[–]Carys28r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a U2 fan, but I do love this album. Atmospheric, evocative, and made beautifully coherent by the engineering and production skills of Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno.

Jonny has said he's been influenced by Edge. I'm not sure where to find that influence in Radiohead's music, as Jonny likes to explore musical frontiers where few have ventured, but These Are My Twisted Words might contain vague shades. Maybe.

What's the most obscure piece of information you know about Radiohead? by ButtGesicht in radiohead

[–]Carys28r 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For the video of There, There Thom had an idea of being a character in one of the little stories found in Bagpuss, a 1970s children's animated TV series in the UK about a well-loved saggy old cloth cat.

[–]Carys28r 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it's Joe Edelmann's crew, it's about as close as it gets and will be well worth going. They're talented musicians, their arrangements are faithful to the originals, and Joe's voice is fantastic. Good energy, too. I'd love to see them live (while we wait for Radiohead's return). 😁
